this will be awesome, pettis could be a huge draw and save the LW division, even though its stacked since penn left there isnt really a major draw and pettis could be that guy
i think even though the new guida is on a tear and actually has the potential to be a #1 contender he will still lose to pettis who seems unstoppable right now
pettis vs edgar would be epic, FOTY worthy no doubt and i would have my money on pettis, great TDD, good subs from his back, great striking...and the kids learns stuff fast, its amazing how good his TDD became after a short period of time training it
war pettis!

Well this is my take. Its all about match ups. Maynard and Frankie is even only cause Gray cuts off the cage well and for some reason Frankie kept having that happen to him in the 1st. Now I fully expect, although I love Gray, Frankie to stick and move his way to UD.Unless of course Gray's footwork gets much better and he gets fater.
Which is a good because I think Pettis would give Maynard a hard time. I think Frankie and Pettis might be the best fight, excitement wise, of all these choices.
Now the problem is Clay is a handful and if there was a worse matchup for Pettis I cant see it. Clay is fast with an iron chin and I dont see Pettis taking him down and that is where he would need to get it to win. Standing on the feet with Clay, with his jerky in and out style, could frustrate pettis big time. Now not to say he can't win but I think match up wise clay is going to be an issue for Ant.
Now Jim Miller and Melvin its simple take him down and submit him and if Melendez comes over he faces winner of those two. Now if Melvin gets by Jim he is a horrible matchup for Gilbert. I think gilbert stands and gets caught with that one hitter quitter.
All about styles but these are just my opinions.

I wish they made this a 5 round fight, because Guida is the kind of awkward guy (especially if he comes out bouncing and ducking everywhere like against Gomi) where you can imagine some very hard rounds to score with neither man landing much.
All in all Pettis is a far superior fighter, hence I wish it was 5 rounds so the best man can clearly demonstrate his skills.
On another note, Jim Miller, no wonder he isn't getting a title shot. He is a wrestler with BJJ, he won't be able to take down either Maynard or Edgar and he loses on the feet to either. He has lost to both of him. Where is his striking development to show he could beat either of these guys?

Well a lot of that fight was also fought on the feet from memory.
I can't see Miller taking down either Edgar or Maynard and holding them there (particularly over 5 rounds) and on the feet, he is outguned by some ways.
