The ban was BS. I mean if someone talked smack to me and my buddies jumped him, I would be the one in jail, probably not the loudmouth. The ONLY reason it was only Mayhem that was banned is because Diaz, Shields, and Melendez were champs and they couldn't afford to ban them as well.

Mayhem is right. It is politics.

I totally agree this whole thing is bull shit, and leaving him out for a year and not telling him the real reasons is bullshit. Ive been waiting to see him fight! And was wondering what was taking it so long

Total bullshit by CBS / Strikeforce.

1) To punish the only guy who apologized;
2) To only punish the guy who was mobbed physically for "provoking" the fight by asking for a title shot [oh, the horror... the horror...]
3) In this economy, to sit someone on the sidelines where he won't get paid, especially if you're not going to use him;
4) For not discussing the punishment with the target [stings of Kafka's "The Trial"; and,
5) For punishing the fans by not allowing a viable fighter to continue with the form of entertainment we've come to know and love.

Of course, in its defense, CBS had a whole other fiasco it has had to deal with:

I highly doubt it was unpermitted , otherwise security would have stopped him.

The whole situation was very WWE like.
Agreed, but he wasn't the one that threw the first punches. Nick Diaz threw to first punch clear from left field. He wasn't apart of the situation, it was just Mayhem asking Shields for a remtach, then Diaz, trying to show he's more than just a fake thug, hit Miller. Then the entire Gracie Dojo all jumped on Miller. So..., if that is actually MMA's biggest concern than the Gracie crew would be banned. Like he said, it was all politics. Prick Diaz, Shields and Melendez were champs and were bigger draws, that's it.

It would not have to be Mayhem (one of my favourites) for me to think this was a shady move.

Not only did the accused not fight, he didn't even get upset over it... This was an amateur, and highly transparent move on the part of Strikeforce.
