Whats up with the ppvs dana?
it seems like we are having less ppvs now, looks like up until august it will only be 1 a month...why is that? didnt dana want to put out more and more fights? like 2 ppvs a month? or are there going to be more fight nights now?
any1 know why there is less fights? or was it always like this?

I was thinking that too until I checked the full schedule. We have to wait till the 28th for Edgar/Maynard 3 and there are 4 straight events in a row. 4 weeks of MMA events. One of them is the strikeforce HW GP card too. Basically all of June is stacked with events.

I think it's cause of:
1.) the magnitude of the Fight that just happen,
2.) Tuf 13
Last year it went - (13 Events, 9 Numbered, 1 Tuf, 3 FN)
Jan 2, 2010 - Ufc 108
Jan 11, 2010 - Ufc FN: Maynard vs Diaz
Feb 6, 2010 - Ufc 109
Feb 21, 2010 - Ufc 110
March 21, 2010 - Ufc Live: Vera vs Jones
March 27, 2010 - Ufc 111
March 31, 2010 - Ufc FN: Florian vs Gomi
April 10, 2010 - Ufc 112
May 8, 2010 - Ufc 113
May 29, 2010 - Ufc 114
June 12, 2010 - Ufc 115
June 19, 2010 - Tuf 11,
Jul 3, 2010 - Ufc 116
This Year - (13 events, 8 numbered, 1 Tuf, 4 FN's)
Jan 1, 2011 - Ufc 125
Jan 22, 2011 - Ufc Fight For Troops
Feb 5, 2011 - Ufc 126
Feb 27, 2011 - Ufc 127
March 3, 2011 - Ufc Live: Sanchez vs Kampmann
March 19, 2011 - Ufc 128
March 26, 2011 - UFN: Davis vs Nogueria
April 30, 2011 - Ufc 129
May 28, 2011 - Ufc 130
June 4, 2011 - Tuf 13
June 11, 2011 - Ufc 131
June 26, 2011 - UFN
Jul 2, 2011 - Ufc 132

Nice list above
Bare in mind also last year we had 4 WEC events during the time period listed, so Zuffa has a hole have so far failed to use the merge of the WEC to host more events, thats about 40 less MMA fights, you can bet that every division in the UFC right now is suffering in lack of development in the divisions from this merge with that many fights cut so far this year alone.
Each and every time there is a FW or BW fight on a prelim or main card, and there has bee a lot, thats a fight taken away from the other weight divisions in the UFC, less fighter development, less divison development, I knew straight away this merge sucked for the fans, I fear now Striekforce is heading for the same fate, thus far they have lost Mayhem and its looking ever more like they will lose Diaz, I would not be surprised if Melendez is next to follow Diaz and Shields, looks like the first steps of losing the organisation as the UFC gives then nothing and one by one takes the fighters they want, yet there is no sign of more shows to support the increased number of fighters and in the WEC case divisions.
I'm sorry it maybe expansion of the UFC but its sure as hell not working out well or helping to expand the sport.

The reasons we are having less UFC's
A.) Retirement of major PPV draws
B.) Expansion of prelim facebook fights
C.) Major cuts of undercard/prelim fighters
D.) A drive to make UFC more visible during the sports/TV off-season
I believe we are seeing as many fights as we used to but now they are back to back so instead of a WEC event which had 4-5 fights we have the facebook prelims that have a lower level of talent but a wider spread of weight classes.

well seeing that list just makes me sad, dana has expanded the UFC not only with the BWs and FWs but with strikeforce as well, because of this he said we would have more and more events, at least 8 more events than last year...and where is it? the numbers arent showing what he promised
hell hes always said there might be a day where there will be 2 ppvs on the same night in 2 different places in the world...either he was talking about 2020 or just saying BS
i like dana and the UFC but the lack of events is kind of ridiculous considering the number of talented fighters added to the UFC in the last year or so
if he doesnt want to make ppl pay too much for so many ppvs at least give us more UFNs
