Aldo really needs a new contract, 24&24 from his WEC deal is just absurd considering that he's arguably the second best p4p fighter in the world.

This is just a guess but I had heard that there was a $20k ticket available for the fight in Toronto. It's possible that this guy paid 20k for that seat. All of the VIP's for this event got a belt so that's probably the belt from his VIP pass. I'm not saying this is what happened but I'm willing to bet that's what it is.

I wouldn't worry about Aldo... When his current deal expires and it's time to re-up, I'm sure he'll get taken care of quite nicely. (Though -- how's that sh*t work with a Champions clause, which I would presume he may have???)

Also -- I believe these bonuses are tied to the gate figures from attendance, so unfortunately, we may not see them remain that lofty; unless Dana sees a correlation between the performances on 129 and the bonuses, so who knows, maybe they will kick the standard bonuses up a bit...

I agree that Hominick deserves more than that, but people tend to forget that fighters don't sign a contract before every fight (well they do, but not what I mean), they sign sometimes 5 fights contracts, so you can be unknow in your first fight, and have many fans in your fifth fight but you would get the same cash (I think it works like this, not really shure)

Well they gave Sanchez and Kampmann 160k each and that was a UFC on Versus card so I doubt that has anything to do with it.

That was an aberration due to the epic nature of that fight blowing Dana's mind...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ard_recipients

Looking at that list, it's clear that there is a direct relationship between the scale of the event and the bonus payouts...

It is quite annoying how the UFC always see a contract out before considering pay increases.

So, a dude on a $5000 per fight, 5 fight deal, will contractually make exactly that, regardless of performance. If he's completely shite, the UFC will cut him before the deal is up, thats for sure. But if hes awesome, the UFC dont give a shit. He'll fight for 5 grand for 5 fights, no matter. ( As far as contracts are concerned, anyway )

Every other sport is willing to rip up contracts for improved deals if a dude is doing really well. Shit, in footie/soccer, Ive seen 5 year deals, signed a few months earlier, get torn up and improved because the player is kicking arse.

This is the main reason why having a single MMA organization is bad. The UFC have no fear of a fighter agreeing better terms with a competitor. There are no competitors. They know they can calmly wait till a deal is up, comfortable in the knowledge that they haven't been talking with anybody else about a better deal.

Having said all the above, I do genuinely believe that Dana and the brothers LOVE the sport. I'm convinced any fighter putting on a good fight will always be rewarded by these guys no matter what it says on the official pay figures. Just don't expect an improved contract till your current one is done.

Exactly.

Hominick 6,000?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!! In a title fight?!?!?!

And Brillz got 11,000 for 20 seconds?!?!

Also: if Garza is getting 4,000 to show i'm curious how much money did he make in WEC??!

I concur. I have no idea how ubiquitous locker room bonuses are, but they were common enough that Randy took not getting one against Gonzaga as a huge sign of disrespect, even though he was getting a PPV cut. And Bisping's punishment for his antics in Australia was that he didn't get his bonus from Dana.

Without some in depth journalism getting agents or UFC officials to talk, we don't really know who makes what, because the UFC has no reason to release it.
