One thing that annoys me is that how people think if u work on your wrestling a bit you'll be able to stuff take downs against hight level wrestlers. No matter how much hardy works out on his wrestling he'll always be taken down by GSP for example, you know why, because gsp is a world class wrestler!!!! You can't just get up to his level!!! That doesnt make sense. If i worked on my ju jitsu full on id still get handled by maia. Same with wrestling!!! if a person works on that, they will still consistently get taken down by an olympic caliber wrestler, because its a different class all together.
Well swick is not a good wrestler at all actually. As far as I know he doesn't have a wrestling background & specializes in striking and BJJ. Also Rumble is no more than a decent wrestler. GSP is a great wrestler and there is no shame in getting taken down by him. Thing is that GSP is kind of proof against your argumnt that you can't "just learn" wrestling, because he didn't wrestle as a kid either & started as a grownup when he was already in MMA. He is kind of special tho so you have a point, not everyone can do that but then again Hardy has to try or he can't be an MMA-fighter since he's one-dimesional.

ok good point. Ok maybe my knowledge of swick isn't that great but most times when I see him fight he takes his opponents down relatively easily. Also I know GSP didn't train wrestling in college but GSP really if one of a kind

Mike Swick isn't good at any thing. He's rubbish.

Rumble is decent wrestler, that's all. Not good, not great, just decent and he was taking Hardy down with such ease.

I'd really like to see him and Lytle go at it, Nick Diaz or possibly Daley although it would never happen.
Funny you would say that as he has had exactly 1 winning finish in the UFC. For a 'power' striker he sure does end up in a lot of decisions.
