Well those pictures are a bit deceptive IMHO.

The one with Edgar clearly has Frankie standing on his tippie-toes so he doesn't look like a hobbit in the staredown. Frankie is 5'6", a good 3 inches shorter than BJ. If you watch the fight again the size difference is much more apparent than in the staredown.

Kenny again looks waaaay leaner and weaker than BJ at LW, and I'm convinced he'll look terrible at FW. This is a guy who fought at MW in TUF. My discussion wasn't about whether it's possible to cut infinitely, but whether it's beneficial to performance at all or actually makes one a worse fighter. I'm sure Kenny will prove my point by getting his ass handed to him by Aldo/Mendes etc. and moving back soon.

The only one of the 3 who's actually bigger is Diego, who was probably the biggest LW in the division bar none. But he was cutting far too much weight and his performance obviously suffered a lot IMO. I'll give you though, if a guy like that can cut to LW then theoretically BJ can make FW. It's just BJ would make a terrible FW. He already had cardio issues at LW, I think he'd gas in 1 rd after as hard a cut as the likes of Diego and Anthony Johnson go through.

BJ pen Doesn't cut any weight at 155 he just diets in the week or so leading up to the fight. He could probably cut 10lbs of water weight without a problem.

If fighters were cutting correctly and give up on this absurd "treadmill in a sweatsuit" garbage then Penn could easily make 145lbs and not be exhausted, but why would he when he just went to a draw with the #2-3 WW and has taken the WW belt before.

BJ has said himself he cannot cut to 145 but IMO its more due to the fact that he doesn't want to cut the weight more than the inability to do so. Also, BJ is nowhere near a massive 155 and the biggest LW bar none was not Diego Sanchez and it was and still is Gleison Tibau.

BJ's cardio issues are not from cutting weight. He has had them his entire career despite never cutting fights for his early fights as he was walking into the cage at about 146 pounds. And I honestly don't think the pic with Edgar is deceptive. BJ's height is exagerated or Frankie's underestimated. I remember when they fought discussing how they only looked like BJ maybe had an inch on him. There is not a 3 inch difference in height for sure.

I am not advocating BJ move to FW just saying it is possible for the sake of comparing as to just how drastic the size difference between BJ and Anderson Silva would be.

I have never heard BJ say he could not make 145 but only that he dislikes cutting weight. Considering BJ was fighting at 145 pounds when he entered the UFC LW division I don't think its even remotely absurd to confidently say that he could make FW with out any real difficulty.

This is from the time period when BJ said he was weighing in at about 146-148 pounds without any cutting.

How can it be absurd he could heathly make that weight again? I don't see where he is that much bigger than when he fought Edgar or Kenny?

Here I would say Florian looks more drained then BJ and Kenny is moving to FW.

How about here since all the talk is about how small Frankie Edgar is and how easily he could make FW. They look about the same size don't they?
Florian looks like he's from Ethiopia or some shit... Wow. What the hell is he cutting to get to 145?
