So its ok for Penn to fight LHW or HW since he fought Machida(he was 220)?
According to UFC 112 Silva was willing to cut down to 170 to face the chicken, but Dana didn't allow the fight cos he wasnt happy with AS's performance in round 4 n 5. Anyway i dont think weight should be too much problem since GSP is a big WW, they can easily fight at 175-180.

Looked to me like Silva was doing what he always does when people bring up superfights or him moving up in weight. He makes a joke out of it.

I doubt he'd have any quantries about fighting Jones. We've all seen what happens when Silva gets a solid challenge from an opponent, and I think he likes that.

I think if Jones puts it on the ground he'd have a very good shot at grinding it out, or maybe even getting the TKO if he continued to land those powerful elbows for multiple rounds.

But on the feet, its almost a no contest. Silva's head movement is unmatched in all of MMA. He'd do to Jones what he did to Griffin if he tried to stand with him like he did Shogun.

I would like to see both fights. I think both guys have the skill sets to beat Anderson. I'm not sure about GSP since the size difference and Silva can end a fight at any time where as George rarely does. For Jones the question is where will he take the fight and can he handle the striking or the submissions of Silva.

Did Silva sound different to you guys? Maybe its just his improvement at speaking English but I thought he sounded different.

given the time-lines,
Jones manager has stated it will be the end of the year or superbowl show (Feb 4, 2012) - sidenote is the superbowl show still a major event if there is no football and just another numbered event?

Aug 6, 2011 Evans vs Davis (Ufc 133)

Aug 27, 2011 Silva vs Okami (Ufc 134)

Sept 24 or Oct 8, 2011 St.Pierre vs Diaz (Ufc 135 or Ufc 136)

If Evans gets passed Davis, he is still promised the title-shot, in that case i can see Rampage (providing he beats Hamil) vs Machida rematch for #1 contenders. If Evans loses, then Rampage sneaks back into #1 contender spot.

The earliest we see either super-fight is Feb 4, 2012 in my mind. More likely is GSP vs Silva catchweight and Evans vs Jones, both on the same card.

Why? To protect legacies and have one-sided fights? I want to see the best fight the best.

They are SUPER fights. Best against the best. GSP would be a ridiculous favorite against Diaz. Silva is a ridiculous favorite against Okami.

Silva VS GSP...?
Silva VS Jones...?

Should Couture V Lidell never have happened.
Should Penn V Hughes never happened.
Should Silva V Forrest never happened.

I'd neg you but seems I already have.
Instead you're going on the ignore list

i could see anderson fighting bones.... but only at the end of his career. it would be sort of like a passing of the torch and im sure anderson would be honored to fight someone like jones.

Of course thats IF!!! jones lives up to all this hype... he has to defend that belt a couple of times definitely

I love the Silva vs. current LHW title holder nonsense. It happens EVERYTIME.

Oh man too bad Lyoto and Silva are sparring partners, that's the ULTIMATE SUPERFIGHT!!

Oh man Shogun vs. Silva would be the best superfight ever, two of the best Muay Thai strikers!

Now Jones after he hasn't even defended the title yet.

How about we wait to ask for a LHW champ vs. Silva superfight until they at least DEFEND their belt once. Silva has been defending his for years and years.
