If they are going to have Gracie on the card they need to have him fight a guy from his generation. I love Royce, but honestly he doesn't have a chance against anyone in the top 30 in the UFC WW division.

Shamrock and Severn want this fight because they know Gracie can't hang with the fighters today and secondly because it would probally be their biggest pay day ever. Why shouldn't they want it. The UFC is huge now and these two helped build the brand.

Honestly if they do have Gracie fight on the Rio card, they need to have one of these guys fight him. If not I don't want to watch it. Not because I hate Gracie, but because I love him so much and don't want to see him get mangled. If I was match maker I would make Gracie vs. Kimo II.

Would have rather seen this few years ago, but to be honest I would still like to see it. I don't think either of them has the chin or cardio to hang with the top dogs anymore, but both of them are rusty old legends with a strong history competing against each other. Likely wont be THAT epic fight, but I still would like to see it.

I really don't mind seeing old guys fight and if a dozen legends got together and put on a super card I do think it could do a million buys.

Fedor Emelianenko vs Tito Ortiz
Royce Gracie vs Ken Shamrock
Dan Severn vs Mark Coleman
Kazushi Sakuraba vs Frank Shamrock
Tim Sylvia vs Mirko Cro-Cop
Renzo Gracie vs Carlos Newton

Ken shamrock is, and has been for a while, delusional. The majority of new MMA fans that have hopped on board over the past couple years don't know much about Shamrock, Gracie, Frye, Jimmerson, Ruas, Abbot,Kimo... the UFC would have to do a ton more advertising to make this fight sellable than it would be worth. Brock vs. Cain 2 would do far better.

Plus, you suck Shammy. You've sucked for a while.

And to those that think Royce deserves a shot on UFC Rio... you are wrong. The sport is not the same it used to be and has passed him by a long time ago. Also, he's a cheater... therefore definitely doesn't deserve a shot.

I would like to see this fight. However would have liked to see it a few years ago. Look at Kens past few fights his knees are so bad he can hardly fight and he can't shoot to get good take downs anymore.

Since this PPV is in brazil and Royce is somewhat the founder of the org UFC, I understand that HE wants to fight on this card and I wouldn't mind seeing him there.

But Shamrock? Frank maybe but certainly not Ken.
