here me out... there is no way in hell should chuck be considered the best lhw in the world! what the ****.. its just another marketing hype by the ufc.. remember everyone was on hughes and franklins nutts? thinking they are the best in the world? or at least the ufc like to make u believe that? look at chucks record after loosing to rampage.. 2 tito 2 randy coutures wtf thats like giving him free wins .. jeremy horn and babalu.. come on guys these aint even close to the top fighters of the "world"

shogun and wanderlei's feats are way more impressive. chuck is good but he isn't the best in the world. the ufc are really good at marketing their fighters. its just a matter of time until someone from another org. comes and woop his ass.. might not be rampage tho.. whos' with me?

Man, I agree with you to an extent, hes probably not the best, but hes damn good.So you cant just say stuff like, "oh ufc is trying to make him look good by puting him up with tito" If he can ktfo like 90% of the world, then hes good.

Right now, I can't agree with you. To an extent, yeah, you are right. But Chuck really is a good fighter and in my eyes the best at 205. And, until he gets beaten again, I won't see it any other way. But, the arguement is reasonable.

Chuck is up there. Coulture is incredible and pounded chuck the first fight and chuck ko'd him twice the second fight. When was the last fight chuck was in that went the distance (Horn) Everyone that is put in his path he wins. Your saying that Hughes and Franklin were poster boys too. No they werent. Hughes dominated everyone in his path. Until he met his match (GSP) same thing with Franklin (SILVA) They all fought tough guys too.. Hughes (Penn, Riggs, Gracie, Trigg, Sherk)until GSP who is F**King amazing. Rich faught ( tanner, shamrock, Quarry, David Loiseau) until Silva whom is F**King Amazing. CHUCK on the other hand has beating everyone in his path. CHUCK, HUGHES, FRANKLIN are not Poster BOYS. SO if Cro Cop wins the Belt I am assuming he is a Poster boy too GET REAL.. You dont know what your talking about

kirkardo you are the one who doesnt know what your talking about. just because franklin, hughes and liddel have fought top contenders in the ufc does not mean theyve fought the best competition available. not by a loooooong shot. i happen to agree with ricefarmer. do you have any idea how much money the ufc makes off liddel?? seriously, if they were to put liddel against wandy, shogun, arona, cro cop etc etc etc THEN we would truly know where he stands. the difference with pride and ufc is pride doesnt make matches to build fighters up (at least not as much as the ufc). the ufc wants you to see the guys they pay the most, win. so they pit them against competition that is incredibly weak. ala cro cops debut and his next upcoming fight. if the ufc always had the best fighting the best then it would be in a whole nother category of greatness. but they dont, they market fighters way too much and its about time people clued in and stopped nut hugging.

I think you have a good point but I think that its not quite as extreme as you make it out to be. It is relatively reasonable to assume that if someone is a champ in the UFC then they are probably among the top 5 worldwide in their respective weight division, especially if they have held on to it.

For instance, i like Anderson, I have liked him since before he came to the ufc. But if anderson was to fight Yushin Okami, i prolly wouldn't put a lot of money on the fight.... (hahah although when they fought in CR Anderson was OWNING him.. haha)

But thats not the point, what im saying is that, it would be a good fight, but what Anderson is facing now is money for him! and Anderson knows that... because the UFC is a GRADE B LEAGUE... well B+ now (Rampage and Cro Cop)

All this "nut-hugging" terminology is making my balls sore.

He's beaten the best that UFC has had to offer him, that definitly takes him way up there. Is he "overated" just because we "think" that he would loose to whoever over in Pride? If Chuck was so overated I think he would probably be aware of it and wouldn't be fighting so hard to get a matchup with the boys from Pride.
And until I see him get raped up the ass by half the Pride LHW lineup then I refuse to recognize him as competly undeserving as one of the top names in the fight game.
Basically what I'm trying to say is we shouldn't tear him down just because of his lack of an oppurtunity to prove himself against the boys from Pride, underdog or not.

I don't think Chuck is just a UFC poster-boy, although he definitely is. He does have a lot of talent as a fighter but isn't the best in the WORLD. Silva is on another level than Liddell, and I think Shogun would also beat Chuck. Chuck always has the chance of knocking his oppnonent out though
