Lol @ "just got KO'd" by Hamill. That was YEARS ago. Munoz is a totally different fighter now.
And Okami vs Munoz was supposed to be a #1 contender match and he just narrowly lost it, if he beats Maia he probably has one more fight before he gets a title shot.
Maia is gonna sub him via triangle when he goes for that vicious ground and pound though.

Munoz had weak TD's and shoot in's against Okami , i dont rate his chances at all.
Much rather see
Sonnen Rematch when this fight is over.

Munoz has a lot of inside knowledge into Blackhouse, has the wrestling to be able to put Silva on his back, has the 'ground and pound of doom' and has been training lately with fellow Phillipino Nonit Donaire (who I personally think is better P4P than Pacquiao) on his stand-up.
If he gets past Maia, I say make a fight between he and Anderson. I think he could make things very very interesting.....

Well first things first, if Munoz was to get a shot at Silva - standing with him would not be the way to go, I don't care who he's been working with lol. He'd need to employ a strict, Sonnen style strategy and shoot in on him, put him on his back, then blast him with GnP the only way Munoz can.
I don't however see Munoz having much luck against Maia - Maia has improved a lot on his standup and I see him actually outpointing Munoz. I'd like to see Munoz use his wrestling though, I know Maia has slick BJJ, but he's savvy enough to stay out of it and just unleash some GnP.

What I'm interested in is what Anderson has to say about that.
Munoz has improved leaps and bounds with his striking, but he's still a mediocre fighter. He should fight the winner of Stann vs Santiago or heck even Bisping.

I actually think Munoz stand-up has improved far more than Maias.
This on the ground though, is sure to be an absolute war!
Love how some people take things out of context though. Me saying he is training with Donaire and improving his stand-up isn't saying he can beat Anderson in a stand-up fight, far from it. It is saying he can possibly survive for longer periods until he gets a TD. Also, not much talk about Munoz coming out of Black House, surely he has some serious knowledge in that department.
I think if he gets past Maia, one more big win and he should get a shot. Although I hope Maia wins and well could if this goes to rhe ground but I see Munoz winning this on the feet unfortunately.

Why did he leave Blackhouse?
