Mark Munoz vs Anderson Silva

Is this the next challenge to Silvas title (assuming he gets past Okami in Rio)?

Munoz has a lot of inside knowledge into Blackhouse, has the wrestling to be able to put Silva on his back, has the 'ground and pound of doom' and has been training lately with fellow Phillipino Nonit Donaire (who I personally think is better P4P than Pacquiao) on his stand-up.

If he gets past Maia, I say make a fight between he and Anderson. I think he could make things very very interesting.....

Let's not get carried away and act like since he's "training with Donaire" that somehow is boxing will be great like Donaire. Munoz doesnt deserve a shot yet at all, even if he beats Maia.
After Okami i would still put Bisping ahead of Munoz, as well as Sonnen assuming he will come back at some point and win his next fight.

Maia would be the first, and only, contender he's ever beat. So..., no he doesn't deserve, nor will he get, a title match if he beats Demian.

Let's say he does though. Then this could be a very tough match for Silva. Munoz is just as a strong a Wrestler (depsite what many nuthuggers will say) as Fail Sonnen, and he can actually finish with his GnP. Granted, if Silva is healthy, unlike he was in the Sonnen fight, then Munoz gets knocked out fast. Munoz has power, but not the technique to land like Fail did when he landed a few pitterpat shots to Silva's wide open jaw while standing. Basically, if Munoz can survive long enough to complete a take down and improve his position, like Fail never once has, to land some of GnP, which is actually vicious, then he cold take it.

No, Munoz isn't even close to the wrestler that Sonnen is. Plus he doesn't have the heart/will to just keep pushing through with his wrestling like Sonnen does every second of every fight.

Munoz just got KO'd by Matt Hamill of all people, and now you think he's going to beat the bes striker in MMA?

To say that Chael has better wrestling than Munoz is a fair argument, but I'm sorry, you are completely wrong in saying Munoz has no heart. Have you seen him fight? I forgot which fight it was but he got rocked several times and came out with the win. He fought Hamill in like what UFC 96 or something? That is a long time ago. However, I do agree that he is not ready yet. Let's see if he can get past Maia and go from there. Maybe, if he wins, him and Bisping for a chance at the belt or something or maybe Nate Marquardt.

Munoz is chinny and has poor MMA wrestling, it takes about 50 attempts for him to get one.

He would get killed......i like him though.

I'm confused, if Munoz has better wrestling than Chael and Chael has better wrestling than Okami then why did Okami demolish Munoz in wrestling when they fought.

I like Munoz, he has the tools, I think he might be a little to small and I don't think he can climb the rankings to earn his shot.

I think the next challenge for Anderson is between four guys, Sonnen again, Bisping for the money, Brian Stann for the story, Santiago for being the new free agent.

Matt Hammill is a brute wrestler, Munoz would have a much harder time getting him to the mat than Silva, kind of a pointless comparison.

Chael/Bisping as next TUF coaches and then the winner will face Silva next IMHO.

Maybe if the gap is too long Silva will face someone in between but it wont be Munoz.
