Squirrelfighter Pre-Frankie Edgar, I would have said Penn by frikkin annihilation. But after watching Diaz vs Daley, and seeing Penn's heart fall apart in Edgar 2, and vs Fitch, I really don't know... I still lean towards Penn but wouldn't be surprised if Diaz pulled it off.

Bj wouldn't let some punk kid beat on him, i see BJ out classing the stand up. And Diaz trying to hard and BJ smashing him down...
I see this fight as a BJ vs Sanchez remake
BJ via ass whooping, JUST because someone like Frankie can do what he did, there is no way in hell Daiz would of lasted with Fitch like BJ, so if you want to ignore styles makes fights than think about his LAST fight lol against Fitch where he won the first 2 rounds hands down
And obviously Diaz isn't going to be able to pull of some Gorilla BJJ

Taking BJ by TKO 2nd round. Would be an excellent fight. It's a shame Nick has said he'll never fight Penn.

Depends on how many rounds there were.
If it were a 5 round fight, Diaz would humiliate BJ. If it were 3 rounds, Penn would probably win a very close decision.

i can't think of a more exciting fight then this one, would be a bjj and boxing clinic. neither guy would stall on the feet or on the ground. this is my absolute dream match. too tough to call.

I think BJ takes it, It think BJ has better boxing, you can talk about all Diaz`s wins standing but lets be real the guy gets punched in the face a lot, something Penn doesn`t do. Even if Diaz does somehow gain an advantage standing BJ could take him down at will and despite having a good BJJ game something Diaz has never done is earn any hardcore BJJ credentials and BJ has been to the top of the mountain. Better ground game, better wrestling and IMO better striking. This is BJ`s fight and stylistically the worst match up outside GSP for Diaz in the entire WW division.

fitch and diaz are completely different fighters. fitch lasted because he's well-rounded with a powerful threat of takedowns. but he's not a very good striker. good enough to defend and set up his ground game, but not finish. diaz has no takedowns so any fight with bj would be a standup war. i think it could go either way. barring a cut diaz has a great chance to win this hypothetical fight.

Honestly i think BJ Penn is better at everything ( IMO ) other than having an aggressive guard.
Diaz only has a reach and size advantage to utilize IMO, but that really does matter in fighting so i think it would be close and it would depend upon how Penn's cardio is, if its reasonable and holds up for 3 rounds he will take the fight.
