This thread needs to live on.

The top guys in the old days wouldn't last long today imo. Guys are getting bigger, stronger, and faster at every weight but especially in the heavies.

Thought about just listing the best big men from 5-6 years ago but this link is great glory day fodder

Found another pretty cool one. My how time flies.

Even from as recent as 2009, the rankings and opinions would imply lunacy to the mma faithful of today. A changing of the guard every two years? Can you imagine GSP, Cain, or Bones not ruling their respective divison in 24 months?

Todays combatants are better in almost every single way than their predecessors. Two fold for the especially gifted new breed of heavyweights. With the coming merger, the Zuffa heavyweight division will be head and shoulders above any organizations all star heavyweight cast.

It's a great time to be a fight fan and it couldn't have happened at a better time than the peak of my fanhood
