Some may say Jones has taken on tough opponents already but that doesn't matter until he's been put into a "fight" we need to see how he reacts to getting punched, being on his back, and when he does not hold the size and strength advantage. Jose is tested Jones is not, so my answer is Jose.

I don't mind Jones at all, but I still will refuse to give him the complete aduration until he actually defends his title a few times against the rest of the division. The guy has skills, no doubt, but I will refrain from the praise until he's proven himself. He is well on his way there, but I still say let him fight Rashad, Lyoto and Rampage, then we'll see where he's at.

Jones without a doubt.
Jose is overrated and is looking good against the weakest division in MMA. If he were to step into LW zone, he'd have difficulties against any top 10 LW, and would lose to any top 5 without a doubt in my mind.
Where as Jones is a serious, serious fighter. He's looked unstoppable so far (so did Machida, though), but even given that, he's tearing through real top competition, and I see him doing great things at LHW and HW as well someday.

Really? There are quite a few on here who think so as well, not just me.
He's a solid fighter, and a great fighter (when in the weakest division in all of MMA), but if he were to move up to LW and fight real top fighters, he'd have a difficult time against any top 10 LW, and would lose to any top 5 without a doubt.
He's a champion in a divison where Manny was the #1 contender and took Aldo to the second round. The same guy who got knocked out by Emerson in 12 seconds.
He's not nearly as good as people think, and if he ever deicdes to move up to LW, it will be shown.

Which other division comes close to LHW in terms of depth of competition? NONE
Aldo looks good but he's a big fish in a small pond.

Yeah i agree he would have trouble in LW against fighters like Pettis, BJ, perhaps Frankie and Gray. But Jose belongs at FW, I think he is faster then all 4 and has better striking then them too.

I see him losing handily to Gray, Edgar, Penn (if he moved back down), Florian (this fight might actually take place), Melendez, Alvarez, Jim Miller, and others.
I don't see him beating any top 5 and I see him struggling against any top 10.
Keep in mind, I'm not saying he's a crap fighter, and I do have respect for him and I'm a fan of his, I love his fights, he's exciting as hell to watch.
However, I don't get carried away about his status because I'm a fan. He's in a very, very weak division where bottom of the heap LW's can become #1 contenders.

LW and WW are way better and when Rampage is in your top 5 at this stage you know the division is weak.
