Fighters You Used To Love, Now Loathe

Because you only really get to know fighters through the personalities they display inside the ring (and sometimes through interviews after), often times I find myself rapidly changing the way I feel about certain fighters the more exposure they get.

Rampage is a good example of a guy who I used to like, now loathe.

A few friends who used to watch Pride introduced me to him as he was in some awesome wars. As I watched some of his HL reels and matches, I thought he was a badass fighter who liked to put on a good show.

However, the more I got to see him on TV and hear about him in the news, I found myself disgusted by the way he talks about opponents, disrespects reporters (especially women), and for his overall lack of enthusiasm for fighting in general.

The recent interview with Ariel Helwani really showcases his true colors ...he likes to make people look like fools.

I'm disappointed with him. He started off cool. He had a really good thing going for him. Who knows, I might end up liking him again, but just with his antics over the last few years, I'm left shaking my head.

What about you guys? Do you have any fighters who you really liked or wanted to like but now just want to see get smashed?

Maybe that's why... I never watched Pride. The only Rampage I saw was some highlights and his UFC stuff. I never was a fan of him...

I like/liked Jon Jones. I thought he was a very cool, talented, humble guy. I still think he's very cool and obviously he's talented... but humble? Definitely not... I don't loathe Jones, but I don't think as highly of him anymore. That's as close as I got.

Used to be a big fan of Anderson but now not so much. Most guys I dislike, I always have.

Sorta the reverse for me. Penn, Machida, Franklin, and Big Tim were my least faves but now I like them all

I use to absolutly love GSP, but now i've had a complete 180, and i hate everything about him. he use to be a badass, now he's one of the most lame individuals in the ufc, all about control and being as defensive as possible, matt serra and greg jackson stole his fighter spirt. the fitch fight was the closest i've seen to the old gsp in a long time.

nick diaz is the exact opposite, all about fighter spirt, and being absolutly fearless, i'd love for him to beat some sense into gsp's face, and show him what a real fighter is about. maybe that would change gsp back into the old gsp i use to love. really hope this fight goes through. weather gsp loses or not, diaz will atleast make him fight and work for a win. there is no resting or feeling safe in a diaz fight no matter where the fight goes, pick ur poison mr. gsp.

I only live by 3 rules: Eat Twat, Smoke Pot, and Smile Alot

Rampage I used to love, now dislike.

GSP I used to love, now dislike (his fights and fighting style).

Anderson Silva I used to love, but now I'm meh about him. So, not really loathe or dislike, just meh.

I'll try to think of more later.

I'm definitely on the fence with Anderson Silva! Loved him when he destroyed Chris Leban! Started to dislike him after he fought Patrick Cote. Downright hated him after the Maia fight. I'm a little lukewarm with him now mainly because he stopped playing these idiot games with his opponents.

I think at one time I liked Chael Sonnen. Especially after Paulo Filho didn't make weight for his fight against Chael! That was the last time I think I cheered for him. Started to hate him because of the trash talk with Anderson Silva. Then after the Anderson Silva fight I started to wonder how this guy can find his own car in a parking lot because his moral compass was ****ed up!

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

Forrest Griffin- Running from the cage after the AS fight left a bad taste in my mouth, especially when it came out he wasn't injured.

Rampage- You can tell he's phoning it in for a paycheck. Someone give him a ScyFy movie like "Octopotamus" and send him on his way.

GSP- see my thread comparing him to Big Timmy.

Stephan Bonnar- Guy is dry as toast in the announce booth. Please don't stick him there, Dana.
