Grove has always shown solid take down defense.

Always been a fan of Kendall. TEAM DAGGERRRR!!!!!!

I don't think his heart is in the game any more though. I read an interview not long ago where he talked about retiring and how all the bumps and bruises through training are taking their toll on his body.

It's more mental than any thing else. He has all the physical attributes to be a good fighter, I just don't think his head is really in the game any more.

The only W on his resume worth mentioning is Belcher. And Belcher, although entertaining, is also a "hit and miss" fighter.

The UFC mhas cut former TUF winners. Time for Grove to go.

Not at the time. The UFC was using Tanner like they used Shamrock for Franklin: a name to boost an appointed up-and-comer.

Tanner was so broke, he couldn't afford a training camp.

You're right in that I used "name" as the criteria in my previous post. Tanner is a name worthy of respect. But he wasn't a challenge at that point in his career.

Agreed....Belcher is the biggest name, which isn't impressive (at the time as Belcher was all the more inconsistent).

Anywhere but the UFC. He wastes card space and is just record padding at this point.

While I don't like him. He is a young guy. Which means he can go elseware, learn some more, get some more experience (on the winning side of things) under his belt and try to return to the UFC. But right now, he's nowhere near any kind of success.

Boetsch seemed to gas early, and just use his size to control a skinnier Grove. Only way I see Grove being relevant again is if in some crazy world he can drop to 170 and get the upper hand in size like Boetsch did in this fight.

Well a strength and conditioning programme wouldn't be a bad idea.
