Lawlor Removed From Ufc 134 Card, Now Faces Noke
Out with the old, in with the new for Tom Lawlor, who was originally scheduled to face Maiquel Falcao in the UFC’s return to Brazil.
As we have covered extensively, Falcao received his walking papers from the promotion after the bout with Lawlor was booked for some legal issues he had in the past.
Lawlor, whose original slot on the Rio card was replaced, has now received a new opponent and a new event for his return to MMA action.
UFC on Versus 5 will take place on Aug. 14 from the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. Featuring a main event between Dan Hardy and Chris Lytle, it will mark the UFC’s fifth live broadcast with the Versus sports network.
Lawlor hasn’t seen action since last October’s UFC 121 victory over Patrick Cote. It was a unanimous-decision victory that snapped a two-fight losing streak for the “Ultimate Fighter 8” alum.
On the other side of the cage will stand Noke, who will carry a five-fight win streak into the match, three of which have come inside the Octagon. After being eliminated in the quarterfinals of “The Ultimate Fighter” season 11, Noke has racked up wins over Chris Camozzi, Rob Kimmons and Josh Bryant.
No word on the bouts placement on the card.
