Who has the better chance to beat Cain?

With UFC 131 approaching I was thinking about who I would rather see go up against Cain Velasquez.

Shane Carwin has devastating power but that and his size (which Cain has already shown he can overcome) are all he brings to the table really. As well as his questionable gas tank. I think Cain dominates this fight.

JDS is a more intriguing fight IMO. We're yet to see how good his TDD is but his stand up and movement could be troublesome for Cain. Even though I think Cain wins the fight I would prefer to see it instead of Carwin vs Cain.

Thoughts?

I honestly don't see anyone beating Cain at this point. But JDS has better chance than Carwin in my opinion. I guess we will find out soon who does have the better chance. I know alot of people don't rate Lesnar anymore, but i truely believe he is only man in the HW division who can beat Cain. But it will be a while till we see that fight again.

Very similar to what I was going to say on all accounts. I believe both of their chances are pretty slim against Cain, but JDS has more of a chance than Carwin. I think if Lesner hadn't gone batshit crazy and would tighten up his striking defense that he would have a very good chance to beat Cain.

There aren't a lot of guys who have a good shot at beating Cain in the UFC currently, his skillset allows him to maul a majority of fighters at heavyweight.

I know Cain has better standup than Carwin, but I dont see it being more powerful. Same wrestling, maybe slight edge in jitsu to Cain, but doubt this fight would go to the ground.

JDS is probably more athletic, but I dont think he has the power. I would probably want this fight more though, big fan of JDS... Cain too..

Carwin imo. I think Cain would just take Velasquez down and control him. Carwin has a chance to end it early with his power and he has decent wrestling to defend takedowns or possibly get one.

I see Cain beating either one 8 out of 10 times.

We haven't really seen Cain's chin tested yet. He was hit clean by Kongo a couple of times but I think if anyone gets hit clean by Kongo (I know Kongo rarely hits anyone "clean" as he usually hits the dirties) they'll be out of their wits for a second or two. Carwin has a chance to beat anyone with the power he has. Carwin+cardio would be an absolute nightmare for Cain. JDS is still an anomaly. As dominant as his fight was against Nelson he still looked really one dimensional and looks uncomfortable doing anything but punching. Still, we haven't seen Junior's TDD tested or his ground game. I give Carwin a better chance simply because Carwin has an extensive wrestling background.

Carwin imo. He just has that one punch KO power. He's also a good wrestler.
