I think it really depends on how much Cerrone's wrestling has improved. At one point, he was the flagbearer for talented fighters with comically bad takedown defense, but he looked sharp against Varner, who is a pretty good wrestler.

I dont think thats fair to say, while his TDD wasnt "up to par" I think part of what makes it seem weaker was the fact he is so confident in his submission game, much like Miguel Torres.

Some guys dont mind fighting off their back, and Cerrone has always been one of them, and he'll often pull guard in an attempt for a submission.

I personally think Cerrone, Henderson, and Pettis are the 3 guys from the WEC that are easily good enough to compete at some point for the UFC Lightweight belt.

Typically I hate guys who talk trash like Cerrone, but he truly comes to fight EVERY fight, and its just so much fun watching him fight that I've grown to love the guy.

I'm pretty disappointed in him he should be throwing more headkicks it is pretty hard to get a takedown off of those.

Rocha had absolutely nothing at all but Cerrone didn't even try to put him away. Pretty disappointed.

Great game plan and execution from Cerrone.

Nothing else to say.

By the time Rocha was very hurt, Cerrone maybe thought he shouldn't risk doing something stupid and being over aggressive = rosk losing the fight.

Good fight.

pretty average against a guy who clearly didn't have that great ability to take it to the floor, and didn't have very good standup. Then after 3 rounds of fighting in complete comfort he shrugs as if to say what more could I do.. sigh
