crioggio has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Dana didn't say Chuck was going to fight Mirko, don't get too excited just yet. He was asked if Mirko could drop down to 205 and Dana said "Chuck WOULD go up to heavyweight to fight him, he would fight anybody." The point Dana was trying to get across wasn't the actual fight happening anytime soon, but the fact that Chuck ain't scared of anybody... Anyways, I think Mirko would own Chuck with a HLK.

you got it half right. he didn't remark about this fight happening anytime soon, but he did say chuck wants to move up to HW to fight Mirko.

he didnt just say Chuck wants to move up to HW for more competition he specifcally said Chuck wants to move up to fight Mirko Cro Cop.

Thumbs up to Liddell if he goes through with this. If he gets KTFO, it doesn't tarnish him unless it's a particularly brutal beatdown, and even then barely so, because he would be expected to lose this fight. On the other hand, if he would beat Mirko, let the greatest ever talks begin.

Get those hands up Chuck...

Chuck vs. Cro Cop is a great match because Chuck will finally get his ass kicked and then it actually plays great into Rampages hands because then Chuck will becoming off a loss and then Rampage will be facing a wounded Chuck. I am pretty sure but I think he faced a wounded Chuck last time too because I think Chuck was coming off his loss to Randy. I think though Rampage should fight Bisping because he has been talking trash and Rampage needs to slam him six feet under. Now onto Baroni I've never really liked him I've respected him but for some reason I've wanted to see him come back along with Evan Tanner. Baroni will most likely get past Shamrock since he is a little b!tch.

here is a great write-up of the entire interview.

ALL CREDIT FOR THOSE GOES TO CRSTLSNAIL AT SHERDOG

Quote:
Dana White, notes and quotes:

BRANDON VERA
- Vera has one more fight. The UFC is negotiating with Vera. White understands that people want to make more money, but "there's a certain way that we have to pay certain guys."

PRIDE BEING FOR SALE
- If White bought PRIDE, he would want to run it as a separate promotion in Asia.
- "If PRIDE's for sale, I'm interested."

THE IFL'S TEAM CONCEPT
- "Fighting isn't a team sport. Who wants to see the Crazy Beavers fight the Woodchucks?"
- Questions the structure of the IFL's team concept, and says he hasn't watched any of the IFL's programs, citing a lack of time outside of business endeavors. Wonders how the payscale would work for a team with only one or two great fighters.

DIEGO SANCHEZ
- White says Diego Sanchez has a legitimate shot at the Welterweight Championship.
- "Look how fantastic Sanchez has been, and he's still a fight away from getting a title shot."

JON FITCH
- Cites Jon Fitch as a legitimate welterweight fighter.

TRAVIS LUTTER
- White was disappointed in Travis Lutter. Said the premise of the TUF 4 show was that the veterans were getting a title shot; Lutter ruined the premise.

NATE QUARRY
- White says Quarry thinks he's healthy enough to come back to the UFC. White says the problem is Quarry has taken a long layoff, and might not be able to get right back into competition.

EVAN TANNER
- "Evan's still got some personal problems that he's been working on. Evan's one of those guys who [always brings his best] ... [he's] always welcome in the UFC."

PHIL BARONI:
- "I love Phil, but I never told him that [he'd get a title shot in the UFC after beating Frank Shamrock]. I would love to see him knock Frank Shamrock's head off his ****ing shoulders."
- "I'll make Phil my step-son [if he destroys Shamrock]."

FRANK SHAMROCK
- "Shamrock's a ****ing knucklehead. I heard he cheated [in the Renzo Gracie bout] ... I heard that Renzo was beating his ass and he cheated."

MATT LINDLAND
- "[The bridge hasn't been burned]. I have no problem with Matt. Matt knows what he did wrong ... I don't hate Matt Lindland. I've actually talked to him [about being back in the UFC]."

MIRKO "CRO COP" FILIPOVIC
- "I'm working on [getting him to attend the press conferences]. There's nothing I hate more than fighters that don't give access to the fans."
- "If he gets through [Gabriel] Gonzaga, he'll fight the winner of Randy [Couture] and Tim [Sylvia]. [Cro Cop's title shot could happen] this Summer."
- "They tell me he can't [make 205 pounds], but Chuck Liddell told me he'll move up to heavyweight to fight him."
- "Cro Cop flew here the day of the weigh-ins, then he's never fought in an Octagon. Was here on one day's notice, fought. That's pretty crazy."

QUINTON "RAMPAGE" JACKSON
- "[The Liddell-Jackson rematch] will be soon, too. I think we'll see [them both fight one more opponent each], and then they'll fight each other."
- White says he's working on an opponent for Liddell.

RASHAD EVANS
- "Rashad and I are very close. We were half-assed joking [at the press conference]. At the end of the day, for the right money, these guys will fight their own mom."

KEITH JARDINE
- "Keith Jardine needs more fights [before fighting for the title]. Everyone wants to ****ing execute [these guys]."

HEATH HERRING
- "[Whether or not Herring will be a legitimate heavyweight contender] depends on how he rebounds. He caught Jake O'Brien and dropped him in the first round ... his wrestling sucks, but he kept trying to finish the fight. He was trying to stop the fight the entire time. I give him the credit for trying to finish it."

JAKE O'BRIEN
- "He's got a lot of holes in his game ... he needs to work on the other aspects of his game."
- White believes O'Brien is a talented young fighter with a bright future.

TITO ORTIZ
- "I think there's a lot of different fights for Tito right now. [Keith] Jardine, Rashad [Evans]."
- "[White's boxing match with Ortiz] is April 24th. It will probably be on the Internet."

KURT ANGLE
- "I had a meeting with Kurt ... he said he was interested [in fighting for the UFC]. Then he signed with TNA. 'Are you a wrestler or are you a fighter?' I'm not going to blur those lines."

NATHAN MARQUARDT
- "Yeah, I think Nate's in line for a title shot. I think you could see him next. [Marquardt-Silva] would be a great fight."

IVAN SALAVERRY
- "I don't know [when we'll see him again]. Ivan's a good guy ... I like Ivan, too."
- Acknowledges that the Marquardt-Salaverry fight sucked.

FRANK MIR
- "It'll be interesting to see [what will come of Mir]. I'd like to see [a comeback] happen, but who knows."

RYOTO MACHIDA
- "Hell yeah I was [impressed with Machida]! He's fast ... I like him."

THE WFA ACQUISITIONS
- "We're going to work out deals with the [WFA acquisitions] that we want to keep."

JASON "MAYHEM" MILLER
- "Maybe [we'll see him in the UFC]."

ASSUERIO SILVA
- "[Assuerio Silva]'s with us."

UFC ROSTER
- "We've got so many guys under contract now, it's so ****ing hard to remember everybody."

UFC AND SPIKE TV'S FUTURE
- "I think we're doing six live events this year [on Spike TV]. A lot [more seasons of TUF to come]."

CURRENT STATE OF MMA
- "Right now is the greatest time for MMA. Enjoy it while you can."
- Suggests that boxing promoters getting into MMA will ruin the sport by stifling "dream" matchups. Says, if you think Liddell-Silva not fighting is a disappointment, wait until boxing promoters make it even worse.

SEEING WOMEN IN THE UFC
- "Not right now ... we're in a hard enough place trying to sell this and getting it out there. I hate to sound demeaning to women ... I've seen plenty of talented women, and Gina Carano is one of them. It's just not the right time. These little organizations can [make these fights] and it doesn't phase them."

THE UFC VIDEO GAME
- "We've committed to making the greatest fight game anyone's ever seen."

PRIDE'S NEXT U.S. SHOW
- "I'll be in England [during PRIDE 33]. If it isn't UFC, I don't see it."

Valid point. If it happens before the end of 2008 I say we still get a really good fight, later than that we missed our chance. Same goes for a fight with Wanderlei.

I like Dana in interviews, and he definitely knows the game. No real issues with this interview write up. I guess he told it like it is.

I don't really like that he's talking about just giving Diego a title shot. I don't really think Diego's the next-best guy at 170 right now. I think he's a great fighter, but I'd like to see him fight Fitch or Hughes or Parisyan before he gets a title shot. Beyond that, he's a fantastic fighter.

I like what he's said about Baroni and Shamrock. He's got balls to pick sides on a bout like that, and he's got a sense of humor about it.

I don't know how much truth there is behind what he said about Lindland. Frankly, I think Dana's a little bit pissed about not having Rich "Pretty Boy" Franklin as his Middleweight champ anymore and he'd be happy to have pretty much any American come in and get that title back. Lindland would smash Silva, and I'm sure Dana would like that.

Dana said that there may be a fight coming up between Ortiz and Rashad Evans or Keither Jardine. Frankly, I'd like to see Jardine and Evans fight each other and then have the winner of that fight a guy like Tito or Babalu. But that's just me.

Dana kept it real about Herring, and he basically said what we all said on the forum. That O'Brien layngay'd his way to victory and that bores the f*cking hell out of all of us. Herring is the better fighter and if the fight got to stay standing we would have seen that.

He kept it real about Mir (admitting, basically, that the chances of a comeback aren't very good), Machida (he's a beast), Mayhem (he's fun to watch, even if he just lost to Frank Trigg), Assuerio Silva (a good fighter and a good aquisition for the UFC), Rampage (really deserves an opportunity to tear Chuck's head off) and CroCop (he's a f*cking machine).

Good interview.
