To steal a prowrestling term because Tito will give Bader the rub. Bader needs that high profile former champion win to help establish him with the casuals. Everyone is looking at it as Bader being ranked higher so Tito is a step down. But Tito is Tito and as far as establishing Bader as a fighter and getting his name out there this is a great high profile opponent for him. The UFC is a business and sometimes its about business and not the sport.

I think Dana is looking for a way to cut him. It sucks because while I've been disappointed with Tito's last few appearances I feel like he could've been much better if he had avoided some injuries. He's a goofball and doesn't have a lot going on upstairs but he was a beast when he was healthy.

Its not fight that benefits Bader at all imo, Ortiz on the other hand stands to gain a good boost up the mid tier ladder. I belive Bader destroys Ortiz Ironically with G'n'P by the 2nd round.

Tito isn't fighting Bader, Bader is fighting Tito. To put it into perspective, this is Tito's fight to lose, and Bader gets an opponent that has a relatively large fanbase.

Your forgetting rankings don't matter, ratings talk and popularity wise Tito is way higher up the ladder than Bader.

Bader needs a good comeback opponent after getting shown up against jones. someone like tito is perfect for him to fight, he's better at striking, wrestling, and probably jiu jitsu too. plus beating tito, no matter how laughable hes become is still good for getting you more popular as well.

special thanks to

Shane Carwin
Anderson Silva
and of course Gray Maynard

This is just a fight to boost his confidence and so they can market Ryan Bader as a guy who beat Tito Ortiz.

Too bad he's most likely gonna draw 'Chida next, and all of this will be for nothing when he's left on the floor strangled by the Dragon.

Tito gets to fight people that he really shouldn't because the UFC knows that the majority of fans enjoy seeing Tito lose on a regular basis.
