People will get confused and think that the Story fight card will start after the marathon. Its a bait and switch to confuse the casual fans and sadly it will likely work.

I hate the fact this is happening as I worry that we will get screwed up in Canada like we did for a long time with SF before superchannel picked them up. Luckily for us with a Canadian office here at least we can be confident somebody will be looking out for us.

I dont think we'll get screwed with UFC events up here in Canada. Sportsnet has the rights to broadcast all UFC events for several years, so no matter where UFC goes, they still have the rights to broadcast them on their channel.

I haven't watched Spike since SNet has started showing live UFC events, not to mention they are in HD for free. I really don't like Spike, especially with that they do with TUF. They have the final say in all the picks and who gets to be on the show, and you know they are sacrificing real talent for some personalities to make the ratings possibly go up. All this has led to some rather dull TUF seasons, cant remember the last time there was a good full season of TUF.

Anyone herd anything more on them buying the G4 network? I wouldn't put that past them simply because then they can do what they want.

These political fall outs happen eventually. Usually involves lack of creative control, greed (in the word of GG "greed is good."), pride, ego, and all the other wonderful characteristics of the "suits" in corporate America.

What Spike doesn't realize is that the UFC isn't a business it's a BUSINESS JUGGERNAUT. While RIM and all these other companies are failing the UFC is rapidly climbing. Within five years Spike will be bought out or go busto.

In another 10 the UFC will eclipse boxing and be on par with basketball, football, hockey as the most watched sport around the world. Soccer/futbol will still be #1.

Within the next 20 years you'll see UFC gyms, UFC runned Taco Bell chains, UFC TV channel showing UFC fights 24 hours a day, UFC casino(s) since they already run Station Casinos, UFC owned venues around the world, UFC record label, UFC motion pictures, and UFC clubs, bars, & lounges.

Then in another 30 years the UFC will split in half probably due to friction between the Fertitta family members and White & co. End of an era...

Dana said it wasn't a deal yet, and ripped the websites that claimed it was a new one.

Spike is being pretty spiteful here, but on the other hand, I can see why they would be upset. The UFC is 50% of the only shows anyone gives a crap about on Spike.

If the CSI spinoffs all got removed, that would leave Spike with dead air.

It's too bad for them, but the UFC is big enough for a major network for sure.

Now that the UFC is on Sportsnet I can't wait for Spike to **** off and die. They can take their 10 million commercials per show and shove it. The UFC was the only thing I ever watched on that crap factory.

I actually found the commercials to be MUCH worse on Versus. I think they are related to the UFC, not necessarily the broadcast network.

The last fights on Versus they cut to commercial the second the round bell rung. Talk about annoying...

As everyone else has said, I have no idea why the UFC is leaving Spike. If I'm not mistaken, the UFC is the main reason why Spike is so popular and well known. They should both revel in the fact that they both mutually benefited each other, and that they both need each other.

There really is no reason for this breakup unless one of the two decided they were more important and had a reason take advantage of the other.

And, now Spike is being spiteful. What sucks is that there is no reason for me to watch Spike anymore after the UFC is gone from the channel.
