I agree though - I believe Nick v GSP should be a title unification bout. However, as the SF WW belt is being vacated, it'll purely be used to raise an up-and-comers stock (eg, Woodley).
Yeah, this. It's partly contractual, but it's also because they don't want GSP to have the Strikeforce belt, what the hell would he do with it? They still want Strikeforce as a feeder, it would be a waste of time to just have GSP vacate it as soon as he won it, or even worse, actually defend it against some can.

man you really pt your foot in your mouth there........

im gunna go ahead and change your thread title from Nate Diaz to Nick Diaz for ya

to your question as soon as the contract is up from showtime, ufc will dissolve strikeforce whether Dana will adit it now or not. The Zuffa brand envelopes its competitors it does not give them a piggy back ride.

I am still wondering if they will do this. I think they like the idea of having a minor league. I think it really comes down to what they can and cannot change based on contracts. Can they improve the quality of SF shows? Can they change the announcers? Can they show pre-fights on Facebook? Etc. I think they would like to make SF a tool to build fighters up or give exciting fighters a place to go to still put on a show, but a lot of it comes down to existing contracts and their limitations. As the UFC lawyers clear through all the crap I am sure we will get a better picture.

Ha...I know it's KJ Noons...I think...lol...and of course I also know Noons only won the first time he faught Neil Diaz.
