Money making and drawing power aside (and to be honest I do think he's worth that much in a Brazilian show), Matt Hughes would demolish him just as bad as he did the first time. And let's be honest: Hughes annihilated Gracie and made him look like a child in the ring. The only thing Gracie showed in that fight was a ton of heart for not tapping to that arm lock. That's not a fight he needs to be aiming for. He doesn't need to get humiliated in front of the Brazilian fans live like he did in the U.S.

This event sold out in a matter of minutes, they don't need to waste a heap of cash on Royce Gracie to get battered in the first round.

Yea...he's pushing it. UFC 1 was a long ass time ago.

A million dollars just to see him get mauled by Matt Hughes in the opening of the first round is not worth it for the UFC.

Oh Royce, why must you embarrass yourself every few years with this nonsense?

Without his gi, Royce is less than irrelevant in any MMA organization in 2011. In the first UFCs he wouldn't have done what he did without the gi. He's lucky he didn't face Don Frye w/o his gi, no win for Royce if that happened.

Im very disapointed with Mr Gracie. I have so much respect for him, which makes it all the more harder to hear him talk the way he does about MMA. "Better to be deep in one thing than shallow in everything" Is that how he really feels about others? Does he really thing evolving is pointless?

I do believe he truly thinks that.

I'm sure he would believe otherwise when they put him against the lowest-tier WW on the UFC roster, and that person finished Royce in the first.
