This thread doesn't make a whole lot of sense. In the opening line you say which fighter you pull for for "some unexplainable reason" and then when listing Jon Jones you give a few very good reasons for pulling for him. In addition you list a bunch of fighters that many people like and who there's really not a lot of reasons not to pull for them. Color me confused.

Yeah I agree.

To answer the OP question, there is no unexplainable reason I like the fighters I do. Its usually because they command my respect with the way thet fight.

Well I think an example for me would be Brock Lesnar. I go into fights pretty sure he's not going to win, but for whatever reason I always root for him.

Josh Barnett. The guy is a cheater and full of himself. Yet somehow I find myself cheering him in any of his fights.

All time, I would have to say Chuck Liddell. Even when his chin was gone I refused to accept he couldn't hack it anymore.

But right now:
Mir, Struve, JDS
Machida, Franklin, Griffin
A. Silva, W. Silva, Mayhem
Shields, Penn
Edgar, Pettis

I tend to root for european fighters unless they are assholes.

But I really like to root for these young exciting fighters like Charles Oliviera, Showtime Pettis, Rory Mcdonald, Evan Dunham, Aldo, Gustafsson etc etc... I guess this stems from a desire to "discover" the next big thing in MMA. In the case of Aldo and JBJ it turned out to be true but many times nothing special happened (so far).
