So who do you guys think will hold their title belt the longest (from now)
I really find it hard to pick even tho i created the thread lol, because you never know who is going to come along. But i decided to choose cain velasquez. I dont see anyone at h.w beating him, his cardio is on a different level, his wrestling again is on a different level and he has good hands. He literally dictates where a fight goes and he just seems to get better. I think a lot of the fighters on the list will be champions for a long time but yeah i picked cain

Anderson is going to retire the champ so forever is pretty hard to beat.

I would say GSP, but the only problem is he's already been the champ for so long that I'm afraid he'll lose his focus a bit and get Serra'd again.
Cain & Jones don't even have a single title defence yet so they're off my list, Frankie's definitely beatable, so to me it's a close one between Cruz and Aldo. They're still young, hungry and killing it.

At risk of pointing out the obvious, he's already beaten two of them, and the only one of them who has more than a punchers chance would be MacDonald, in about 2 years, if he keeps maturing.
If GSP wants to keep winning at WW, he has at least 2-3 years more, barring a flukey loss, which is probably longer than anyone else.

I went with Anderson, although it was a toss up between him and GSP.
Anderson is a deadly guy and is very dangerous, and GSP, although not really dangerous at all, is extremely good winning rounds and point fighting, much like Machida is.
Jones/Cain haven't even defended their title, Frankie is pretty solid but I don't see him lasting too long in such a deep, tough division, and Cruz/Aldo are both fighting in weak divisions, so sooner or later someone is going to pop up that isn't a mediocre fighter that's going to beat them.
So, yeah, Anderson or GSP, but I went with Anderson.

I went with Jones, not only because he's the youngest but because I see no challenges at 205 in the division or out of it.
Cain - is the underdog against JDS has a HW class coming in from SF.
Anderson - has a series of tough wrestlers and guys with one punch KO power plus age, I doubt he'll hold the belt when he's 38.
GSP - Condit and Macdonald are monsters right now, the WW division is deep, plus I believe he may drop his belt and move up to MW.
Edgar - I think Maynard beats him.
Aldo - I think he moves up to 155 and drops the belt.
Cruz - The only fighter who could challenge Jones, the reason I don't say him is his style leaves him open to wear and tear on that chin and when it goes it goes (see Jardine, Liddell, Silva) and it looked like it was going in the Faber fight.
In order of when fighters lose their belts
- Edgar - less than a year
- Cain - less than 18 months
- Aldo - vacated in 18 months
- Anderson - less than two years
- Cruz - over two years
- GSP - vacated in two years
- Jones - over three years

Pretty much a tie between GSP and Anderson. There really isn't anyone out there who warrants a pick. JBJ and Cain haven't defended but I would like to say that JBJ will be the long time reigning champion if he beats Rampage as I believe Rampage is his biggest test at 205. Machida will get lit up because he is a outside fighter and JBJ has amazing reach, Rashad is the second biggest test I believe and after that, its pure domination.
