Soti has never had a great chin he gets hurt in a lot of his fights. I don't remember anyone saying he would be the champion just that he was inline to fight for the belt soon if he kept winning. There is no way in hell he could ever beat Frankie, Gray, or BJ. It isn't like Dos Anjos is a can and him winning is a huge surprise. I didn't bet on this fight because Soti didn't really have a significant advantage anywhere and I had a bad feeling about a younger faster MT striker going against an aging plodding boxer.

He will never be a title contender just because of his lack of athleticism. I don't think he is as bad as everyone is making him out to be, though. If he works on his takedowns and doesn't go into fights with terrible game plans he can stick around for a while.

His standup hasn't looked good as of late, never has. Wasn't good against Lauson or Siver.

BTW, anyone notice Siver dropped Soti with the same combo just didn't finish him

he went on a pretty good tear and it's a bit surprising at just how quickly some of these guys go from prospect to defeated left and right...

I have to agree with osmium though, even though soti looks good, stand-up is his big weakness and he has also been rocked quite a bit in his previous fights. I don't think him getting KOed should be all that surprising at the end of the day.

The ignorance and nut-hugging is utterly sickening most of the time. And it's incredibly difficult to have rational conversations with such delusional people. It's the main reason I personally have under 500 post in all the years I been a member of this forum.

The problem? It's just like the fanboys found on video game websites and forums. They are fans of the promotion, particular fighters depending on their popularity...if they are too mainstream they hate on them cause they think they are cool, and most of all they are fans of the drama. They care way too much about a fighters personal life. They are ignorant enough to believe they can judge a person from a few minutes of TV time. But all of this is for naught...as I said you can not engage in an intellectual conversation with these individuals. They are so clueless they do not even realize these comments are directed at them.

Soti was such a dark horse. I lost a damn parlay bet all because of him back when he fought against Stephenson. He was using ankle and knee braces for extra traction too.

He's a solid journeyman though, but got outclassed against an ever improving Siver and probably didn't take Dos Anjos seriously enough. Something I want to point out though is that Soti always gets clipped. He has odd head and body movement. Sometimes it seems like he's in the wrong place at the wrong time when he's throwing a punch. While his boxing is adequate, his submission game is his bread and butter.

He should work on his takedowns, because his striking isn't gonna get him anywhere.
