Guillard and Makdessi should be higher. Miller should get the next shot if he beats Henderson, no doubt about it.

Guillard will probably earn a shot with 1 more impressive win, whether it be the loser of Miller vs Henderson or Dennis Siver. He won't fight Guida unless it's a title fight.

He's got good power in his hands, but not very technical, above average wrestling and a decent ground game. No area of his game really stands out to me, he was soundly out boxed and out wrestled by Gray Maynard in their last encounter. I think he'd lose convincingly to both Gray and Frankie again.

I don't think Guillard would fight Guida because of the team mate issue. I still think the winner of Miller/Bendo should fight Guillard for the spot. Personally I think Guillard is quite capable of smashing either of them.

As for Guida, I don't know and I don't really care.
Miller's run is a lot more impressive than Soti's was.

He subbed Oliveira, took down Shalorus with ease, and has never been outstruck on the feet. Not to mention excellent cardio, toughness, heart, etc.

He will rightfully be the underdog against Maynard or Edgar (again), but he isn't an easy fight for anybody.

I think Melvin should be a spot higher.

List is decent enough, though.

This new and improved Melvin Guillard should be much higher. Its going to take a strong wrestler with great jits to take him out

Pretty much what Guy said.

Miller's run is more impressive than Sotiropoulus'.

And his next fight is against a very very tough Ben Henderson,

Miller is much more skilled than Soti imo. And a lot tougher.

His BJJ is underrated. His wrestling is underrated. Even his striking is underrated. Plus he is pretty strong and has great cardio + conditioning.

I would love to see him fight Guillard, no doubt, but if he wins his next fight, he should definitely get the next title shot.

And agreed: Guillard "2011" is looking very impressive.

.

True about the resume, it is definitely more impressive than Soti's. How ever, he was out struck by Gray Maynard very easily and just squeaked by Mark Boeck.

He is a solid fighter with lots of heart and some good skills, but he just doesn't seem to stand out in any one particular area.

Any ways, really looking forward to the Bendo fight.

Lately, I came to the conclusion: it's better to be like this, than to be great in one area and suck in the other areas.

Example: Maia - exceptional grappler, but that means sh*t if he can't get the fight to the ground.

I don't mean being one dimensional in one area but lack luster in other areas is better than being solid all round. I mean that if Jim Miller is true championship material, then he would be outstanding in one particular area and then very solid in all other areas.

Look at GSP for example. Outstanding in one area and very solid in all other areas. Anderson, Jones, Cain etc, all champions seem to share this trait.

I don't see that in Jim Miller, yet he seems to get A LOT of hype from the online community. Solid, all round fighter with heart, yes, championship material? Not in my opinion.

Jim Miller isn't on as good of a streak as people think.

I thought Tibau nearly beat Miller (honestly if he got it 29-28 I wouldn't have batted an eye), and Bocek fight was the same. People on here still swear Bocek got robbed.

Take that away and his best win is over a guy with no UFC rights or a guy with only two?

On the other hand, Guillard just beat a nobody and his loss to Diaz is still fresh in my memory.
