Bj himself felt defeated, so I think the winner was already ironed out. I'm not a fan of rematches, if its a draw, keep both fighters moving forward and facing good opponents and the better one will work itself out.

On behalf of alot of fans, thank you.Joe Silva and Dana should pair BJ against Thiago Alves, and Fitch against Condit or Shields I guess. Those would be good matchups for the fans, and is fair if you are looking at the welterweight ladder.Only my opinion

Disagree completely. I scored the fight for BJ 29-28, that last round IMO was not a 10-8 round, Fitch did not even pass the guard and from what I remember did not land many clean clean shots.

Anyway, I would've liked to see a rematch but am not unhappy with not seeing one.

Thanks to limba for this AWESOME sig

I scored it for Bj as well, and argued to death when the fight happened. But after BJ felt he lost, it took all the wind out of a rematch for me.

If that last round was not a 10-8, it doesn't exist. And from what I remember, a high percentage of those shots landed. Penn was morally defeated by the midway point of the round, didn't seem like he gave that much effort to escape.

I was hoping for a rematch, it would be a high quality chess match between the two. It will be interesting to see who they are matched up with now.

bj should thank them, he lost the 1st fight even though most fans will never admit it, and he would lose badly in the rematch

he doesnt have the cardio to beat fitch and he wouldnt be able to surprise fitch with his gameplan second time around, fitch would dominate him like he did in the 3rd

and before ppl think im a fitch fan, im not, look at my post history and you will see im a much bigger bj fan, i just dont see how ppl think he won, the last round he got dominated and GnP for pretty much the entire round, he had 0 offense, thats a 10-8 round, you dont have to pass guard or hurt your opponent, if your opponent controlled you for the ENTIRE round and you did NOTHING but get beat up...literally nothing, then you dont deserve a 9...why would you get a 9 for doing nothing? if BJ had at least stood up once or landed 1 shot maybe it could have been a 10-9...and that GnP was not weak

bj needs to move back to LW, the division is CRAZY now with so many contenders, i think hes afraid to prove himself as the best LW again, if he loses at WW he has the excuse of being in the wrong weight class

he needs to move back fast cuz he isnt strong enough to hang with the WWs and time will show how most WWs will beat him

I agree completely. Thinking Penn won the first match is a little ignorant and I'm a huge Penn fan but you have to put that aside and not be biased. Yes Penn took Fitch down and took his back twice but he couldn't do anything with it as Fitch easily turned it around. Other than that, Penn did not do much and Fitch was ontop doing damage for the majority of the first 2 rounds. The only round you could give to BJ was the first one. Much more logical to give Fitch a 10-8 3rd round than it is to give Penn the second round. I mean if Penn himself said he thought he lost then I think that shows you something because typically fighters always think they're going to win when it goes to a decision unless its a blatantly obvious beating.

The only time there should be a rematch is if it was a title fight so im glad this fight wont happen.

However, the fact he could make a fight with Jon Fitch somewhat close impresses me and shows me that he still has a good amount of fight left. The only man who had a more impressive fight against Fitch was obviously the champ himself. I really want to see him fight some of the top contenders at 155 where he is at his best.
