On top of what everyone else has been saying he has also had a few LHW fights already, so it isn't like he has only fought at MW in the UFC.

You're not off your rocker. I mean, Gsp's legacy is already being tarnished by the day, and he's still winning. If Anderson starts decisioning everyone, he'll get the same treatment. I think they both should step a weightclass up, they both have the body for it. Anderson can easily compete with the Rampages, dare I say Silva/Bones...dear lord what a fight. And Gsp can hang with any MW you can name. I think it's time they did move for awhile, they can always drop back and challenge the new champ at the class they left.

Hey man, I don't think it's possible either. An 80 year old front kick from Silva would still drop most young bucks, but it happens to the best of them. When his times comes, he should be considered the best to have stepped into the ring, no matter his wieght class. But it's the time in his career to take the challenge, he has nothing else to prove.

Silva is not my favorite fighter, but every time the lights go down and that song comes on *It's dark... and hell is hot* and then the camera gets a close up of him, I get goose bumps. Every time. That doesn't happen with any other fighter.

Say what you want about Anderson's opponents or his fight with Sonnen, but the man has had me, and I think others, at the edge of my/their seat for the last 4ish years.

Watching Anderson do his thing reminds me of why I watch MMA, and sports in general, in the first place. If that is a waste then I don't know what isn't.

I just lol'ed at this.

So let me get this straight. Anderson and GSP's legacy is being tarnished......because they win too much and too easily???? Last time I checked, that was the whole friggin point of pro sports.

WTF does this even mean? Just think about what you are saying here. The fact they might be able to fight successfully at a higher weight class doesn't mean they lose something by fighting at their optimal weight class.

Fighters should obviously fight at the smallest weight class they can comfortably make, and maximize any size advantage they have. Silva and GSP both do this, it makes them better fighters, not worse.

I would like to see GSP move up to MW, but I'd like to see it as a fan, I'm not going to pretend that would necessarily be the best thing for him. Same for Silva.

They will both go down as two of the greatest fighters of their generation no matter what happens, the only way they can tarnish their legacy is if they Shamrock themselves and fight so long that they are losing to 2nd and 3rd rate fighters.

Results matter, not sideshow stuff. GSP and Silva's record both speak for themselves, they don't need to showboat at higher weightclasses to prove anything. I wouldn't mind if they did, but it wouldn't prove anything.

I have to say that Andersons talent hasn't been wasted. At all. Hes been THE dominant champ for close to 5 years. Nobody has given anyone a chance when fighting Anderson. He is the GOAT. Fedor a close second. Silvas legacy will live on whether he stays in the MW division or not. He will always be remembered as the greatest. In 100 years time, people will be talking about him as they do Joe Louis or Jack Dempsey.
