So what do you guys think? Is Tito the most mainstream star in the UFC?

The article makes a good argument although I tend still to think the IceMan is the face of the UFC. I suppose outside of MMA maybe Tito has the advantage. Although they both coached on the show and Chuck has alot more commercials than Tito does. At least in my area.

I also think Liddell is the highlight of the UFC right now, but in a few years I could see GSP being as mainstream if not a lot more

Its sad but Tito could ver well be the biggest name in the UFC and in America he could be the biggest name in mma. Its defiantly either him or Chuck and then probably Hughes.

When i first noticed UFC he was the big name, he was the big name in the UFC game (or atleast it seemed so) and he dates the biggest porn star, which well, millions love (she's not that great <_<) so yeah, i would say so.

But Shamrock was big because of his WWF crap, and now its gonna be Lidell or Cro Cop soon enough. Especially as it goes mainstream.

I"m just not sure him dating a Porn Star and being on ONE TV Show really makes him anymore of a name that Chuck. Take Anna Nicole Smith. If she never died here recently would anybody really have recognized her boyfriend?(even with a famous last name) If you Watch Spike TV often,I see Chuck commercials alot more than most other MMA Stars.

I like GSP and all. Highly respect him as a MMA star. I highly doubt he'll ever be a mainstream commercial star in the UFC unless the UFC main market isnt the USA someday. Canadians arne't the most popular with us and being French Canadian makes it even more unlikely.

Of course on GSP I"m referring to outside the world of MMA. INside the MMA he's gotta be one of the most respected. Although I hope he doest become injury prone all the time. I dont want a champion being injured all the time.

I would definetly say hes probably top 3 most recognizable face in the UFC. People who dont even really watch MMA pretty much know who he is.

btw..why are some of you guys using phrases like "I'm afraid". Is that because you dont like tito? or just dont think UFC has someone worthy? I hope this isnt a pride/ufc thing,because UFC faces are more recognized in the usa obviously.

I have seen a Chuck xyience commercial before I think. I know for sure I've seen a Forrest Griffen one before. I have yet to see a Tito one though. When you watch the fights though they always pan to Tito and Jenna. It goes into the whole sex sells thing. When Rich Franklin was champ he was and probably still is huge with the girls. I went to a buddy's house and there was some chicks there and the one girl said to other that she couldn't wait for Rich to fight because he was "So, Hot"

People say things like that because there are alot of people in the UFC who are better than him but alot less known. Chucks as much if not more known at this point but no one else is. Guys like GSP, Penn, Hughes, Franklin, A Silva, Rampage, Couture, Arlovkski, and Tim too I guess are alot less known than him as well as guys who are about even with him like Babalu, Sherk, Diego, and Karo.
