According to sources close to the situation, the middleweight champion is in talks with the UFC to fight Dan Henderson at UFC’s first show on FOX, scheduled to November 12, in California.

...

Sources also indicated that if Henderson didn’t agree to move down to middleweight months after a heavyweight showdown against Fedor Emelianenko, Chael Sonnen is the option to replace him against Silva.
Chael Sonnen is the option to replace someone for a fight in California? That seems highly unlikely after California pulled his license, and basically called him a lying, felonious scumbag.

I don't think the CSAC is going to give him a license after giving him such a public reaming so recently.

Some people think that they can convey either a philosophy on life or a complex political statement using a signature on the internet. I'm not one of them.

Rumor: Anderson vs Henderson II in the makings for UFC on FOX debut?

Quote:
Anderson Silva will put his belt on the line this Saturday, but the organization is already thinking on his next title defense. According to sources close to the situation, the middleweight champion is in talks with the UFC to fight Dan Henderson at UFC’s first show on FOX, scheduled to November 12, in California.

Anderson, who already defeated the former Pride champion in his long UFC career, tapping him in a rear-naked choke at UFC 82, fights the highly underdog Yushin Okami this Saturday, at UFC Rio, while Henderson waits to define his future with the end of his contract with Strikeforce.

Sources also indicated that if Henderson didn’t agree to move down to middleweight months after a heavyweight showdown against Fedor Emelianenko, Chael Sonnen is the option to replace him against Silva.

Sonnen is set to fight Brian Stann at UFC 136, and if Henderson doesn’t take this fight, he’d be taken out to fight Anderson. Stann, on the other hand, would potentially fight Vitor Belfort.

Here's a bit from an interview with Lorenzo Fertitta:

Quote:
What do you expect from UFC on FOX’s first edition? Do you already have a main event set?

We don’t have a main event set yet, we’ll find out probably after this Saturday, these fights in Rio, then we’ll set a main event. But it’ll be something big. It’ll be a big fight.

That'd be insane. I'd love to see a rematch. Although, they really are throwing wrestlers are Silva now Wonder if Hendo will fight smart this time...

Yeah and I really believe this is were they're heading in case Silva wins this weekend. Lorenzo keeping his options open until UFC 134 is in the books is a further indication of this rumor being true, possibly

As a side note, Stann vs. Belfort doesn't sound too bad as an announcement.

As for Henderson, I don't think that would be a wise move by him. I don't think he would fight smart after his KO win over Emelianenko which probably has boost his confidence in his hand power even more. He is too slow and this time it could end in his first KO loss.

At first i was very excited since Hendo is the man to beat Anderson, he definitely has the tools, only if he'd fight smart and doesn't forget about his wrestling.

I'm still a bit skeptical though, we all saw what the weight cut did to him against Shields, he is much, much more dangerous at LHW.

Hendo said he wants to stay at LHW though. I think they will give Silva the winner of Sonnen v Stann. Hendo maybe the winner of Griffin v Shogun?
