They just want him now while the hype is so high, they not willing to risk him been beat in the GP at the cost of what it would cost them in PPV sales to bring across a guy that did not win that event.

1. Its not hard for people to predict how the overeem situation is going to go. There really is only like 2 options.

2. Zuffa cut the GG fighters contracts, not Overeem. His actions had nothing to do with GG fighters and there is no way in knowing that getting injured and asking to reschedule a fight will result in his teammates contracts being cut. Dont forget, Overeems brother contract got cut too. To believe Overeem set it up or wanted it this way is down right lunacy.

3.Overeem actually comes off as a good guy and is one of the few people not afraid of standing up for himself when it comes to Zuffa. I might not think Overeem is the best HW but i definitely do respect his character and personality. There is no reason to wish harm on someone that has not done anything wrong, and your crazy man theories does not count.

4. Smarten up guy...

Agreed. I think he will put on outrageously dominating performances against people who are intimidated or have terrible game plans (Browne? Struve?) but will get embarrassed by most wrestlers and people who will get in his face and give him no respect. I think Barry could even KO him.

The funny fight for me is Cheick Kongo. I can either see Overeem making it look like Mir-Kongo or Kongo making it look like Kongo-CroCop. Would Kongo be intimidated by Reem I wonder?

As for the higher up guys, I think he won't beat any of them. He gets blasted by Carwin, Mir, JDS and Cain etc IMO.

Also, when the hell is Werdum coming back to the UFC? I think Werdum/Cain and Werdum/Mir are AWESOME match-ups. I've wanted Werdum/Mir for like a hundred years now.

I'm a big Reem fan so I want him in, and I would love to see him beatdown Mir, but his past troubles tell me a guy like Cain would give him trouble, and Werdum did have a measure of success striking with him so I believe Junior could do just fine with him, but there's a lot of great fights for him in the UFC, so the sooner he signs on, the better.

imo kongo would ko reem... alistair has become very overated the past two years. put him up against brock in 2012 and have a match between the two most overrated heavy weights of all time. the winner gets to have his ass beat and exposed by cain or jds. its seriously time for the legitamately skilled heavy weights to get some shine because it should have never taken a guy like jds so long to get a title shot.

I'm going to be pissed if this turns into another Fedor situation...

Brock gets a title shot against couture after how many fights? Reem is declared the best hw fighter after beating who? Im not saying they suck im just saying that they r not as skilled as u obviously believe they are. Brock is/was a phenominal physical speciman with good atheleticism as well as good wrestling. His standup is terrible and so is his defense in all areas. Overeem is strong and is a good kickboxer with solid muay thai. He got his ass k.o.'d badly by two lightheavyweights and all of his latest fights he has looked very underwhelming. Neither of these two are as skilled as cain or jds. id like 2 see brock fight mir in a rubber match and reem should take on kongo before either of these two guys are in a number 1 contender match. But seeing as though they both have all that hype around them im guessing that one of these two will be getting the winner of cain vs. jds.
