Lyoto Machida would rather fight Dan Henderson.

Is Phil Davis a good fight at this stage of your carreer? Do you believe that if you beat him youŽll be the next contender?

I'd rather fight Dan Henderson. Yeah Henderson is better, but if it has to be Phil Davis I'm prepared.
This was translated, the whole interview was in Portuguese, this is the fight I wanna see the most out of any fight, ever. So I'm down. Machida would probably out-point him.

I'm interested in both. I'd probably rather have Hendo.

I think Lyoto beats either one, and I'd love to see it on the UFC on FOX card.

I think both would be good fights. I'd love to see him fight an elite wrestler like Davis - the only wrestler who's attempted to take him down is Ortiz, and they were all stuffed. He knocked out Couture and Evans before they had the chance to.

Henderson is also a good fight, but i think he would pick Henderson apart. If he avoids the big right hand its an easy decision win for him.

Exactly right.. He has never been taken down by the elite wrestlers in the division(although i think rashad could have). I just dont think phil davis is good enough yet to fight machida. Lyoto outclasses him in every aspect. Not sure if the phil davis fight is official yet but if not i def. think hendo is the much better match up. It would set up who would be next in line after rashad gets his title shot. And BTW i love phil davis as a prospect but his takedowns looked terrible against lil nog and i agreed 100% with him when he said he wanted to take a year off and refine his skills. I just dont think him fighting a guy who will be 2 times harder to take down than lil nog is, is a smart idea. He is either getting knocked out or outpointed by machida if he fights him...

REad this article earlier as well. Damn straight it would be a phenemonal matchup although Dan will probably lose.

There is one thing Hendo has going for em. Machida almost always circles to his left which is what Bisping was doing.

Very intriquing match up though. Phil Davis is not ready for Machida.

YES!! and i think its the fight most fans would rather see!

Machida shouldnt be fighting rising stars. Give phil tito or franklin

Well, he didnŽt actually said he would rather fight Dan, he just said Dan is better than Phil (twice).
He also said that the idea came from the fans and that some talk about the fight as been having place.

He also said he talked to Dana recently about the refusal of fighting for the normal money vs Evans
and he says Dana told him: "We're ok, it was just business".

Thanks for the link. Good interview.
