One of the best strikers in the division, never been knocked out, very elusive and holds K1 victories over Musashi and Kyotaro. I'd say he'd hang in there.
Chris Weidman style wise is the worst match up however Weidman is way too young and inexperienced, it's a shame we'll likely never see the two fight in their primes. Weidman will more than likely be the heir to the 185 throne and with his great wrestling and improving ju-jitsu this guy is gonna be a serious force and a striker's worst nightmare.

Given today's talent pool, I've been thinking this myself lately... (Obviously, contingent upon Weidman continuing his development, and not going all Brandon Vera on us)
Everyone is going to keep looking for challenges to Silva. There is only 1 thing that will beat Silva and that is father time. Other than that there is nobody and i mean NOBODY in the UFC or anywhere else at 185lbs that can beat the Anderson Silva of today. Granted in a few years when he slows down someone will be lucky enough to fight him at the right time and beat him.
However if Stann wins their fight he will get the next shot a silva, and chael will probably fight bisping or miller then he may get a shot at silva weather silva beats stann or not because everyone is itchin for the rematch. Then the winner of that gets the next title shot.
Mousasi..... isnt that the guy that keith jardeen just fought to a draw? If he cant ko keith what makes you think he would have any chance against silva. :confused02:
Let's see, Gegard Mousasi, a natural middleweight competing in LHW. Never been rocked or finished.
26 yrs old, MMA record 31-3 (28 stoppages). Holds victories over Lombard, Souza, Sobral. Not that much of an elite list of fighters but he is doing what an elite fighter would do, finishes everybody off quickly. Not saying much, but dispatched O'Brien quicker than Arlovksi, Velasquez or Jones could.
Kickboxing record 8-0 with victories over Musashi and the K1 HW champion Kyotaro.
Mousasi is the shit and i definitely think he would have a chance against Anderson.
Okay, in all seriousness what do you guys think of Dan Henderson's chances of beating Anderson Silva? He has been on a role lately and is one of the few that had some success in fighting him. Well, up until he thought strike with Anderson.
On a latter note, Brian Stann is absolutely no match for Silva, no where close. Brian Stann won't get past Sonnen. 1 year of wrestling wont make up for 25.
As a matter of fact, no one in the MW division has much of a chance of beating AS for the exception of Sonnen of coarse.
If anyone has a decent chance of beating Silva, it's GSP, and JBJ.
As much as I like Brian Stann (Semper Fi, Marine) I don't think he's ready for AS and as much as I dislike AS it can no longer be said that he isn't one of the most dominant fighters we've seen. But had it not been for Sonnens 20 seconds long brain fart AS would have been beat, even though it would have been reversed because of Chaels failed drug test. Sonnen has been the only one who has shown even a glimmer of hope against AS, he'll beat Brian and then get another shot at AS, hopefully. Imagine the crap out of his mouth if he beats Silva, it'll never stop.
So Mousasi got "exposed" because of a subpar fight against an up and comer who LnP'd him to death and got owned in guard for 5 Rounds? At least he didn't catch a lucky triangle in the 5th Round after getting his ass kicked.
I know MMAth doesn't really work all the time but think about this:
King Mo beats Mousasi
Feijao beats King Mo
Hendo beats Feijao
Anderson has beaten Hendo, and you can't really argue that Hendo is better now than he was then.
I think all of the above beat Mousasi in prospective matchups and Anderson would beat all of them.
Mousasi won that fight with Jardine, but Jardine is a mess. It is sad that he couldn't knock him out, or at least get a clear cut win over a guy who has been beaten by everyone as of late.
In the Mo fight it was pathetic. Those were some of the weakest and gassed TD's I have ever seen work. Mo gassed in the 1st and Gergard gassed in the 2nd. And it went all 5 rounds. Was one of the most pathetic title fights of all time. Mo hasn't beat anyone good.
Mousasi has good skill on paper. But he can't hang with top LHWs, let alone even have a chance vs. Silva.
In his weight class no but at 205 Id be willing to bet he picks up a few L's to go with a lot of W's.
