I don't care if this story is true or not, I just hope that Rampage believes it and gets motivated.

“One of my friends was talking to Jon Jones’ manager recently, and Jon Jones’ manager was saying that he knows everything that is going on in our camp,” Jackson said. “He said he had spies in our camp and he knew everything that was going on. That got me thinking.

“How did he know about my hand injury that fast? It wasn’t on the Internet, and yet he knew about my hand injury right away. The UFC people were in Brazil, which is why it probably took them four hours to call me. That shows me two things: They have spies in my camp, one, and two, they’re dumb as hell, because they didn’t know how to use the information correctly and to wait. He called right away, running to Joe Silva. Joe Silva called my manager right away.”

Jackson said he was bothered by it because he said he doesn’t operate that way and doesn’t try to seek out information about any opponent.

“I don’t care what Jon Jones is doing, and I don’t care what his game plan is,” the former UFC light heavyweight champion said. “I have zero care. I still have the honor of a fighter and going into battle the right way, not spying on my opponent. I’m not scared about my opponent, asking a lot of questions or worrying about what he’s doing. I don’t even watch film.”

Kawa vehemently denied having a spy in Jackson’s camp, but admitted he called Silva to inquire. Kawa said he had seen a report on Twitter that Jackson was injured, which prompted his call to Silva.

This is what happens when you have one camp that is willing to win at all costs and has the track record of pushing "legalities". Reminds me of the NE Patriots and Bill B having spies read the other team's coach lips. If it is true, then that is slimey.

Also I didn't know Rampage had an injury going into the Rashad fight, maybe that's why he looked slow as hell.

He was slow as hell because he was extremely out of shape before the fight. He was 250 lbs or sth like that at one point.

Oh no doubt about that. Wow 250? I didn't know it was that bad.

Yeah just completely ignore the part of the article that said Rampage sustained an injury. People seem to just pick and choose which part of reality comforms to their bias, and it's often the least relevant part. What's his weight got to do with the fact that Evans was attacking an injury no one knew about?

Anyway back on topic, Kawa said he saw it on Twitter, I would love proof of this because Rampage said it was simply words in his gym and was not wrote about on the internet.

Wow. Just had a quick scan at that link and this really stood out for me:
Quote:
JONES: Yeah. I hate it when people come up to me with a belt that looks exactly like mine and they ask me to sign it. I worked three times a day for three years to get this [light heavyweight championship] belt, and now this guy asking me for an autograph has one just like it. Are you serious? I mean it's not as heavy, but it looks just the same.

I like that. I don't think it's silly at all.

JONES: I never sign those belts.

Unless a fan is walking up to Jon and claiming that he also "earned" his replica belt, it's such an extremely petty thing for a fighter to care about.

For a sport where everyone takes such pride in the accessibility of its athletes, this is an answer that is below what I'd expect from event he most jaded of "mainstream" sports stars.

I don't recall ever hearing an established NFL, MLB, NBA, etc. star refuse to sign a jersey because they'd worked since they were little kids to play ball at the highest level. They touch in the interview a little on the fact that there's no merchandising rights for the fighters, but for Jones to act like a fan wanting his autograph on a piece of memorabilia should suffer because MMA agents have never had the strength (or ability) to better pursue the merchandising and licensing issue is a rather weak move on his part.
That comparison is complete bullsh!t. You think Jones would refuse to sign some UFC gloves for a fan? Thats the comparison that SHOULD have been made. Why do people start a witch hunt when a guy gets a certain amount of fame?

And as for Rampage, i dont really care whether or not theres a "spy" in his camp. Thats his issue. If he isnt sure who he's training with and doesnt trust his training camp, thats an internal issue. If another camp can put a "spy" in your camp, theres something wrong at your end to begin with. Ignoring the fact that its a completely ridiculous claim to make without any factual evidence.

The comparison is completely valid. Its a piece of memorabilia sactioned and sold by his employers. If the NFL started selling replica MVP awards and players wouldn't sign them, there would be a shitstorm. Its the same concept. Jones owes it to the fans to sign the, no doubt overpriced, belt they bought because they want to be like him.

This pompous childish prick thinks its okay to tell a paying fan, who's lining his douchey pockets that they can go f*ck themselves for buying a piece of flimspy plastic that looks like his belt. He makes me sick.

No evidence? Did you read any of the several articles linked throughout this thread? Or are you just a blind fan incoherently supporting a fighter?

Wind your neck in kid and learn some manners.

I'm more of a Rampage fan than a Bones Jones fan, but i dont see any evidence, just Rampage's bonkers speculation. The guy's a total fruit loop - and thats why i love him

Go f*ck your mother. Hows that for manners?

Rampage told his camp (and only his camp) that he'd injured his hand. Within four hours Joe Silva was calling asking about the injury. He'd learned about it from Jones' camp. The information was not on the internet (no sherdog, no MMAfighting, no twitter, nothing) and yet somehow Jones' camp knew about it.

If not through a spy then how else? The MMAWeekly article on this topic notes that Jones' manager said he'd seen it on twitter, and MMAweekly follows the samew people as Jones' manager, and saw nothing noting an unjury.

Jones' manager is lying about the way he learned about the injury. In a court of law, this is enough to get a conviction.
