Right after Buffer's "its time!" they are singing a famous song here in Brazil, during Paulo Thiago's fight, The song's name is "Tropa de Elite", refering to the special police force Paulo Thiago works, ot goes something like this in English: "Elite troop, hard bone to chew, they get one, they get them all, they also gonna get YOU!"
After that they scream "Caveira! Caveira" wich means "Skull", and it is Thiago's Police Special Force symbol.
"O Rodrigão voltou!" After Minotauro's win "Rodrigo is back!".
While AS tools Okami, they were shouting "Uh! Vai morrer! Uh! Vai morrer!" wich mean "You are going to die!"
After the win they shout "É Campeão!" wich means "You're the champion".
One thing I wanted to add was it looked like a full stadium alerady for the preliminary cards. That has NEVER happened before to my knowledge. It shows they are true fans of the sport and really enjoy it. They got their moneys worth and some!
Excellent video! That crowd was sure the best crowd in UFC history, slightly ahead of the Canadians. You could feel the electricity. Too bad the video did not show Big Nogs KO win; they got real loud the moment it happened.
This is one of the things that I enjoy most when the UFC goes outside the US. The crowds are just so much better and it adds to the fights. The US crowds are really tame compared to these except for a few select cities, but they have nothing compared to when the UFC goes to Australia, UK, Canadia and now Brazil. Can't wait until they go to Mexico and Cain V. Knocks a dude out!
US fans needs to step up! That goes for all other sports in the US too. Unless it's the playoffs for any sport or college football, the crowds suck! There are some cities that do go above and beyond (Seahawks/saints) but other than that, quiet crowds take away from the experience and excitement. Just my two cents and not trying to offend. I'm sure I missed a few more cities out there...
