On the other hand Shogun has shown that he can be a very patient fighter if required, which was demonstrated in his first fight against Machida. He can sit back, pick his shots and counter if he wants to, he doesn't always have to go berzerker mode on people. I think Anderson would still be the favourite but Shogun has the tools to give him one hell of a fight.
He was patient against Griffin, I think he ran forward with like one combo early on to see how Griffin reacted, after that he only countered, it was a counter that dropped Griffin. Machida likes to sit back, play games and work the element of surprise, Shogun made him fight.

I hope he employs this style in every fight now, using his kicks only against compatible opponents. Notice he didn't kick Forrest because he knew what Forrest wanted to do.

Shogun is definitely well suited to make Anderson work and make him make mistakes, and he capitalizes savagely. It is a dream fight.

I didn't!

I also am not so interested in Silva vs GSP, as I said I wish they both stay as ICONS in their divisions. But I wish Silva vs Sonnen II comes true.

BTW, GSP was never in such a situation. Look at the score cards and you'll understand me.

This is all the same stuff they said about Vitor fighting Silva and look what happened. As much as it hurts to say it AS looks pretty unstoppable all the way thru even LHW division. Let's see him go against Overeem when Dana finally signs him.

Not sure what you mean, Shogun fights nothing like Belfort, he is much more experienced with kick offense/defense and doesn't stand in front of opponents woodenly with a wide guard.

Why does it hurt to say Anderson Silva looks unstoppable? And why would you want him to fight Overeem?

Not interested in Silva vs Shogun at all, it would go down the same as the JBJ fight.. in fact probably worse.

Give me Silva vs JBJ/GSP over Shogun any day.

Why is everyone just looking at shoguns past look at silva's aswell and mainly the sonnon fight look how you can put pressure on him. He looks human again i think shogun would do the same. Not sure who wins tho because of the power they both have.

This fight is a waste, no one is going to outstrike Anderson. Ever. Certainly not people with the same tools as him but on a lower level.

Only an elite wrestler will ever beat Anderson, unless he grs old and slow.

Down the line yes but not any time soon. There are other fighters that would be more exciting to watch
