By that logic, 80% of all fighters should quit, no? Forrest makes good money. If he can get the buzz back, which im convinced a break will do for him, then its always worth it. I'm no fighter, but I imagine win or lose, the buzz of fighting and competing must be superb.

If he has enough money to retire, and he has other interests that satisfy him, then I guess he should retire.

I don't think its pointless at all, I mean why do we watch mma? To see great fights right? Give Forrest a normal opponent and he''ll but on a great fight, seems worth it to me.

6 months?!

That's a good thing for him.

Gets to think a lot about his life, fighting and what he wants to do next.

I hope he comes back and fights at least 2 more time.

I believe a rematch with Jackson would be a good fight. Or a fight against someone like Lil' Nog.

Maybe even a 3rd Ortiz fight.

.

BELIEVE!

I did want to see Griffin vs Machida but after the Rua fight, I think it would be almost as one sided except it would last longer. 6 months off will be good for Griffin.

Nah because most fighters haven't been champions, aren't going to be HOF'ers etc. When you're that kind of fighter but have reached your limits and are likely to get knocked out various times in the future because you'll only be ever be in big fights, I think it's a slightly different deal.

If he wants to compete then that's his call of course, but he isn't going to have the motivation ever again because he knows he's not going to catch up to the the top fighters. Shogun just made mince meat of him and previously got utterly destroyed by Jones, so what does Forrest have to aim for? He'll be competing for the sake of competing and entertaining the fans, but he'll get KOd another few times for his efforts.

If I was him I'd consider by long term health, open a gym and live a good life away from the cage. That is of course unless I couldn't resist competing.

Six months should do him good, give him some time with his family and let him re-evaluate his career.

Few more KO losses though and you know Dana will be ready to have the talk with him, he's been put out by Horn, Jardine, Rashad, Anderson, and Shogun.

Yeah, that's not gonna happen.

Without him, North American MMA or MMA in general wouldn't be where it is today.

And Dana has already said numerous times him and Bonnar have jobs for life.

Why the hell should he get cut? He is 2-1 in his last 3, those victories came against Ortiz and Franklin. He is still very much capable, not every big name has to fight top competition all the time.

You always here how he's overtrained and getting injuries...surely Xtreme Couture and the Warrior Training Centre should look at revising his training so he doesn't run the risk of just wrecking himself in the Gym.

Time for Forrest to try another gym and mix it up, he's so injury-prone! The fight had little offence from Forrest, this is why I wonder if it was from training.
