On second thought I think the user who claimed he heard someone say stop was talking about the Palhares/Miller fight.

There was a thread on Forrest moving his mouth before the knockout though.

I'm not surprised and it's not a big deal.

That being said, I can't imagine what the reaction would be if Jones, Anderson Silva or Rashad revealed something like this about another fighter.

I'm guessing the forum would crash with a mob of angry posters kicking up a shitstorm.

I hope Shogun isnt fighting Machida again next.
He already fought him twice recently, and he brutally KOed him last time.
There has to be someone else Shogun can fight. Save the "rubber match" for later.

Isn't bleacher report renown for having fake reports and rumours?

I don't trust that site.

You know everybody has had their bad nights.

GSP tapping to Serra.
Griffin waving "no mas" to Anderson.
Ebersole verbally quitting to Hector Lombard.
Shogun tapping to JBJ.

I will say it was surprising to see Shogun do that, but nobody can judge till you're in that position.

*NOTE* I just watched a video on Green Beret recruits training.
- 256 joined and 50 quit within the first hour
- another half by the end of the first week
- 60 were selected, but had to go through a year long training and further screening process which meant probably 30 would actually become Green Berets.
- that was one of the toughest things I've ever witnessed. Makes my MMA training look like PE class.

Point is none of us can judge anything til we're in their shoes. I'd probably handle it differently, but then again don't we all think that way.

This was exactly what I was thinking. Come on Shogun don't start the Chute Box arsehole thing again, man. You don't go around saying stuff like that, ESPECIALLY when you basically tapped out to a 23 year old beating you senseless. Just when he was growing on me, he says rubbish like this. Griffin made you literally quit in their first fight, kid.

Forgot about that. Taping to a sub = STOP, so you're right.

After reading through the posts I can say with confidence, Griffin has far more to the death fans than Shogun. I don't like the concept of to the death fans, but I'm okay with it.

On the OP. He might have said it, its very possible the guy who didn't even want to be fighting, and wanted to be home with his wife and soon-to-be daughter, was yelling stop when he was in the gray area between consciousness and blackout. But what's more likely is that Shogun was so in the moment and amped, he heard it in his head, even though it wasn't actually happening. Happens often in extreme stress and high energy events, especially with lots of noice which can cause auditory matrixing.

To rubber match with Machida: DO WANT! There's no better fight anywhere in MMA for either fighter right now.
