Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley is hoping to right some wrongs with his next fight when he returns to the scene of the crime in Montreal.

Daley is scheduled to take on former UFC fighter Luigi Fioravanti in the main event of Ringside 12 at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Oct 21, and the British slugger is hoping to make a mends for the mistakes he made the last time he was there.

At UFC 113 in May 2010, Daley lost a unanimous decision to Josh Koscheck, and following the fight Daley slugged Koscheck with a sucker punch after the fight was over.

Daley was promptly fired from the UFC, and president Dana White vowed he would never fight in the organization again.

Well, now Daley, who still remains under contract with the Zuffa owned Strikeforce, hopes to make it up to the fans in Montreal with his next fight, with his ultimate goal to earn his way back to the UFC.

“I’m looking forward to returning to Canada and re-writing the wrongs I made last time,” Daley said. “Luigi is a tough guy, but I’m so focused now and ready to perform. I will stop him. My goal now is to return to the UFC. I know I’m the best and I deserve to test myself against the rest who believe the same”

Daley last fought at BAMMA 7 in England where he picked up a win over fellow Octagon veteran Jordan Radev by unanimous decision.

As he heads into his next fight, Daley’s manager is also behind him and the changes he needs to make to prove to Dana White and everybody else at the UFC, that he’s ready to come back.

“Paul looked great against Radev at BAMMA 7 and is back on winning ways. Now we have the chance to head back to the Bell Centre in Montreal and put right what he once did wrong,” said Daley’s manager Wad Alameddine. “Paul has always loved the Canadian fans. They love a fight and love a guy that throws down. They’ve loved Paul before and will love watching Semtex again come October 21st. Fioravanti poses some interesting problems, but as always we are going into this fight confident and looking for the KO, expect fireworks at Ringside 12.”

Daley faces Fioravanti in the main event of Ringside 12 at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Oct 21.

This. Then he needs to start doing some MASSIVE ass kissing. After that 'I don't need the UFC' campaign he is really not on DW's 'WW's to look out for' list.

Besides, I completely believed DW when he said we would never see Daley in the UFC again. This isn't like his beef with Tito where it was personal, this was because of Daley's direct actions.

Too bad, he's irrelevant at 170 pounds.

GSP, Fitch, Shields, Koscheck, BJ, Diaz, Alves, Story, Brenneman, Ellenberger, Condit, Rumble, and Woodley would and in the case of Kos, Shields, Diaz, and Woodly already have beat him, and if he came in with a much better game plan Kampmann would probably beat him in a rematch, but Kampmann has by far the worst Fighter IQ in MMA.

He also doesn't make weight, and he's a one dimensional fighter, he's not needed.

Don't worry Paul, I'm currently on the phone with Dana trying to work out a deal for your return. I think I'm making progress because at first, Dana was saying NEVER EVER EVER, now he is only saying NEVER EVER.

I'll also work on that 176lb weight division while I'm at it.

I'd love to see Paul back in the UFC an regardless of the past and all the hate there are a lot of exciting fights for him. He won't be the champ but he would do a lot better then some people give him credit for. Daley actually has really good takedown defense its just that once he gets taken down which is bound to happen if a guy doesn't want to fight and just tries for the takedown/lay'N'pray he is bad off his back. On the feet I think he poses a serious threat to anyone at WW and unless your an elite wrestler your probably not getting him to the ground. Flame away.....

Not going to happen soon, perhaps if he kept the hype after the Diaz fight he'd have a better shot. Dana seemed extremely impressed with that fight. Unfortunately he lost his next fight after that and looked impressive against Radev weighing 176. He needs to put on some waves if he wants to get back to the big leagues.

Out kick boxed by Fitch, having troubles standing toe to toe with Rick Story. Highly doubtful he would maul Daley.

As I said before, Daley is quicker and poses more power. Alves has been over rated for a long, long time. People still seem to think he's this outstandingly good striker and any one who decides to stand with him are in great danger. It's just not true. Duane Ludwig would probably beat Thiago Alves. In fact, I really hope they book that fight.

Thiago Alves tends to shut down when he's pressured by strong wrestlers like GSP, Fitch, and Story (I personally think GSP scared him a little). He was afraid to throw anything in the Fitch and Story fight because he was afraid of being taken down. He actually wasn't taken down much at all by Story. Story simply bulled him against the cage and started throwing punches in the clinch during the end of each round. The problem is, Story might have good takedowns but his ground control isn't something to ride home about. Fitch has the second or third best in the division, so even though he only took Alves down a few times, he kept him there.

Paul Daley seemingly gets taken down at will by any strong wrestler. He has only really showed inprovement against Tyron Woodley. Alves has much better takedown defense than Daley does in my opinion. Alves would beat Daley pretty handily if they ever fought. Daley moves his head little and a precise striker like Alves would absolutely eat him alive. From other fights I have watched, Daley doesn't check his leg kicks either. Alves has some of the best leg kicks in the game.

I would also like to point out to the people who think that Daley hasn't been improving that like someone else said he showed good improvement against Woodely, who I might add is a two time D-I All American. As well as in his last fight against Jordan Radev who was an Olympic Wrestler for Bulgaria only managed to take down Daley once in the third round while Daley was gassed from relentlessly pounding him for the first 2 rounds.(That dude has a phenomenal chin)

Anyways I'm not interested in starting a big debate but I really think people are overlooking Daley's ability just because they dislike him for the Kos sucker punch.I don't condone it by any means but when the guy is holding you down and saying racial slurs in your ear I doubt a lot of people would be able to keep there cool in that situation . He deserved a hefty suspension but there have been equally bad if not worse things done in the UFC and people still keep there jobs. The double standard and frequent rash decision by Dana White should be pretty obvious to most of the hardcore fans.

I can't stand Daley because his idea of working on his TD defense is mouthing off daring his opponent to stand like a man. People seem to accept it but its a bitch move that is the equivolent to Aoki crawling around on his ass begging for his opponent to jump in his guard. If your gonna be one dimensional at least learn how to get/keep the fight in your world.

If you watch his last two fights you can see that he has been working hard to improve his takedown defense. But hey its cool if you don't agree I'm done with this debate though its obviously not going anywhere. I always tell myself I'm not going to get into on this forum but I just can't help myself.:doh01:

Working on it is fine but he is completey clue less. When he fought Kos he was training with these old wrestlers and it looked like he was training for a Fitch/Shields type wrestler, the slow push you against the cage and grind you down wrestler. Oblivious to the obvious fact that Kos isn't that kind of wrestler. Kos is the explosive shoot a double and drive right through type wrestler. Daley still has a long long way to go and will never stop the shot of anyone who sets it up right until he gets some real training with legit sparing partners who are actually strong wrestlers. Daley's ego and refusal to move beyond being a kickboxer and becoming a mixed martial arts fighter will always hold him back.

You have no idea who he was training with and how often he was training it. What are you judging this from? A countdown show?! Pre-fight hype videos. Your judging his entire training camp from a couple of minutes footage from a god damn count down ZUFFA hype show. C'mon man.

I hate it when people act as if they have some kind of inside knowledge on training camps because they've seen a little bit of video tape from some pre-fight hype rubbish. You genuinely have no idea whether he's working on his wrestling once a week, or seven days a week, so don't act as if he's "refusing" to work on his weaknesses. He could be working his ass off in the gym every day on wrestling but just might not be THAT good at it, how would you know? Oh yea, training hype videos, of course.....

The fact of the matter is, he has just demolished an olympic wrestler and had notable improved TDD and and improved ground game against Tyrone Woodley. Will he ever threaten the top dog wrestlers in the WW division? Probably not, but don't act as if your some how inside Daleys training camp and inside his head and know what he is and isnt training day in day out, because you have no idea.

my post involves the original topic posted:

"My goal now is to return to the UFC. I know I’m the best and I deserve to test myself against the rest who believe the same”
his cut and ban was never about his skill.

his quotes come off as though he feels he is entitled to something. for all we know, he could be very remorseful for what he did after the bell but instead he tells us about how he "deserves to test himself" against fighters in the ufc. quotes like these don't help his chances of getting back into a dana white run organization. you aren't out because of a lack of skill or excitement, you are out because of a lack of maturity... and you haven't shown any progress.
