Excuse me for wanting to be educated about MMA, unlike the majority of fans who don't understand what they're watching.
High level grappler's constantly look for guard passes, establish dominant positions and look for subs and finishes.

All of the above do not apply to Jon Fitch or Stun Gun. They prefer to lay in guard.

That's funny, a BJ Penn fan dissing Jon Fitch's ground game.

Did you happen to see thefight? Where Fitch was raining down constant punches looking for the finish against BJ and scored a 10-8 round?

Last time I checked, you don't get 10-8 rounds laying in guard.

Looking for the finish, lol. Just like Chael Sonnen was looking for the finish landing arm punches on Anderson Silva for 4.5 rounds.

This has nothing to do with the BJ Penn fight. I have already expressed how I thought Jon Fitch deserved to probably win the fight.

There's a difference between landing arm punches in the guard position to keep busy and avoid getting stood up and working to pass the guard, gain dominant positions or posture up and land heavy ground and pound. Jon Fitch did neither of those things. He doesn't do any of those things in any of his fights.

He's content with lying in his opponents guard and landing short arm punches to avoid the stand up and win on points.

High level grapplers seek dominant positions and look to finish the fight.

Yeah, not like he out-struck Alves twice or cut Ben Saunders up or anything. You're right, Fitch just lays in guard constantly, just like he did with Diego.

Don't you just love how Fitch is working in Diego's guard in that pic, man he should try to pass there.

There's Fitch again, in Paulo Thiago's guard this time, that dude totally just lays there and doesn't do anything, **** him right?

I do appreciate high level grappling as much as the next guy. There are different kinds of grappling though. Theres the kind that goes for good positions and subs that are fun to watch, then there is the "lay in your guard and throw a hundred arm-punches" kind of grappler wich is boring to watch.

Imagine playing a fighting videogame against a guy who knows all the special moves and is really technical with the game vs that guy we all know who just button-mashes and still manages to win alot. Wich is more fun? Fitch/Sonnen type fighters are the same as button-mashers.
It can be effective but it's boring and annoying.

Also regarding those pictures you posted, well even the most boring fighter has a couple of better moments, that still doesn't change the fact that 90% of Fitch's fights are "lay in a guys guard" type fights. Same goes with Stungun.

It's ok if you think it's fun to watch, just understand that alot of other MMA-fans will never agree with you.

Did you happen to see there fight were the LW GOAT was dropping Fitch on his head and constantly looking to finish not doing it outta desperation on a gassed opponent who was tired from dragging your oversized WW carcass around the cage for 10 minutes. That fight showed far more skill from BJ than it ever did from Fitch.

I love grappling but its hard to enjoy LnP, I understand what is going on but its so slow paced sometimes. I love when they mix it up but Fitch and Stun Gun both admittedly have been in some stinkers.
