Does 136 have the potential to be the best event ever?

Seriously this card is ludicrous, I can not believe how great of fights they have lined up.

Lets start with the Spike card, Anthony Pettis vs Jeremy Stephens. This fight should be dynamite. This is one of the best fights of the year on paper, these guys were seemingly custom designed to win FOTN and on 99% of cards you could write them the check before the weigh ins, this is that truly epic 1% of events though.

Next we have one of the greatest grapplers of all time and a former #1 contender fighting the Segoku MW champion and this shit isn't even on the main card.

Now we can get to the main card,

Leonard FOTN Garcia vs Nam Pham a rematch of there first fight which despite a poor decision was a fantastic fight.

Joe Lauzon vs Melvin Guiliard is another great match up, Guilliard has looked fantastic as of late and Lauzon is always game come fight night not matter who he is fighting.

Brian Stann vs Chael Sonnen, classic striker vs wrestler fight and one that should deliver as I wouldn't expect either guy to run outta gas.

Kenny Florian vs Jose Aldo. Have your seen Jose Aldo? The guy is a human highlight reel and he has his stiffest test yet IMO here as faces a 2 time former LW #1 contender.

Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard. The best fight so far of 2011 took place on the very first day of the year and this is the rematch we have all been waiting for. The first fight displayed tons of skill, will and heart. The fight was crazy and you would have to be crazy to not be excited about the rematch.

I love this card, I think it may be the best card we have ever seen, I will be heartbroken if I have to miss it.

Damn, with all the events the past few weeks, I only just come to realize how many awesome fights there will be on 136. Hell, I was so used to the fact that events are 2-4 weeks apart, I forgot 136 is this week, so yeah, you could say I'm very pleasantly surprised and very excited!!

4 events in 4 weeks, and all the events have been pretty awesome. UFC is really delivering to say the least.

UFC 136 is STACKED. One of the cards I antipate the most this year. I'm as excited for this card as I was for UFC 126 and UFC 134 ( Huge Anderson Silva fan ).

However, my expectations for this card is so high I will probably be left disappointed at the end of the day. Great cards on paper does not necessarily translate to fantastic fights.

UFC 100 was stacked with marquee fights but I have little interest in those as much as just great fights.

We seldom get this many great fights though that match up this well to make great fights. I think few of these fights will fail to deliver.

This card is absolutely stacked - but look at this selection of main events and co-mains from UFC 136 up until UFC 141, the remainder of this year will be insane

- Aldo vs Florian
- Edgar vs Maynard III
- BJ vs Nick Diaz
- GSP vs Condit
- Velasquez vs dos Santos
- Shogun vs Hendo
- Cung Le vs Wanderlei
- Bisping vs Mayhem
- Jones vs Evans (Pending confirmation)
- Lesnar vs Overeem

God it's gonna be madness I agree that 136 has a huge amount of possible great fights, perhaps more than any other card this year

It is a great card, no doubt but I think you are over rating some of these match ups.

Guillard-Lauzon: Since Guillard has actually developed some TDD and cottoned on to the idea of actually having/following a game plan this should be a lopsided fight. Lauzon's wrestling isn't great so I don't see him getting Guillard down which means he gets TKO'd pretty quickly.

Sonnen-Stann: Yes, classic wrestler-striker that ends the classic way, with the wrestler winning a fairly easy, uneventful decision. Sonnen has only ever been stopped once from strikes so even if Stann lands big he doesn't stop Sonnen. I've seen nothing from Stann to suggest his TDD is anywhere close to good enough to stop Sonnen so this should be pretty routine.

In any case, still an excellent card, will definitely be getting it.

I'm not allowed PPVs, but I will watch it on YouTube or wherever with enthusiasm, because it's stacked.
