He's beaten Penn, who is ATM the best LW ever. So now its more of a question of the manner in which he acts in and out of the cage. Out of the cage, he appears to be one of the coolest dudes in MMA. In the cage, if he dominates a few more opponents in the fashion of Penn 2 and Maynard 3 he'll definitely be ranked #1. Once he's beaten the snot out of Melendez and the Bendo/Guida winner he'll be the best. Then they'll do the Aldo/Edgar superfight at either a catchweight or 145 and he'll be undisputed P4P #2 or 3.

Unless of course he continues to use his chin to block punches...

They guy has lost once to TOUGH competition and has almost half his fights were finishes... I don think he should defend a few more times though. Which seems easy though considering I think Manyard was the toughest fight Edgar will have for a while...

And their is no reason for a Aldo super fight right now. He needs to fight some different guys first IMO...

Edit: Melendez seems like a good fight after his last Showtime fight is up here soon.
