Sounds to me like Hogan is saying that to try to protect his friend. Hogan knows what it's like to be in entertainment fighting (even if wrestling is fake). A lot of wrestlers get pushed to the edge just to keep the fans happy so they can keep their jobs. The same can be siad about the UFC. There are a lot of great fighters out there and the UFC has a lot of them but it's a "work-shoot" Some people are given more chances in the UFC than others. The UFC let a lot of good fighters go because they either couldn't get along or the fighter lost a couple and the ratings for that fighter were down.
Just look at Tim Sylvia vs. Tito....Sylvia was getting payed around 100k per title defense. Tito got payed twice that just to challenge Chuck fo the title. mean while Jeff Monson (who faught through a lot of people to get his shot) ended up with only a small 13k to face Sylvia. These fighters still have to pay the bills. In events like Tennis, Golf, Poker, etc... You get paid on how well you do the event you are playing, not whether or not the fans like you.
In that respect I say "Bravo Mr. Hogan!"
p.s. He only really brought it up to protect his friend. He knows that someday his friend could get really hurt because the contact it real and the MMA world could just drop him like a bad habbit.
