He's right about Shogun, he never said he "sucked" or Chuck would run through him. He said no one knows who he is, yeah a knowledgable fan knows who he is. but the odds would be this would take place in UFC and the average fan would say "Okay, Chuck going against some guy i havent heard of, no point in getting this PPV."

It wont sell like his fight with Wandlerlei would. People know their rivalry well and that sells tickets right there. Dana White is just thinking like a business man, he has to make money afterall.

Psalm 30:5 "For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."

Top 3 Favorite Fighters
1. Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell
2. Glover Teixeira
3. Demian Maia

The problem with the UFC/White is they base their fights on popularity and how good it will sell, not on how good the actual fight will be. Dana knows the majority of UFC fans don't know who Shogun is, hell I didn't know who Shogun was for a while, I didnt even know what Pride was. You have to assume MOST UFC fans are ignorant and just want to see a fight

Would be a good fight but Chucks over the top right would put Shogun to sleep.

I think he along with everyone else that enters any organization should prove that they can handle that organizations contenders before getting the champ. Lets say I've worked at a place for 10 years and I know everything there is about that company and could run the place myself, but they decide to hire someone strait out of college for the management posistion I want without ever proving they can do the job in the first place. Same thing applys here imo. I know Cro Cop has all the tools and past experience to be champ in UFC, but there are other people that have been trying to work there way up to that shot. Let these people getting early title shots show why they deserve it with their new opponents first.

Once again this is my opinion.

Regarding the whole Shogun comment. We has true MMA fans, not just UFC fans know who he is, but whenever I'm out at the sports bar watching the events, you wouldn't beleive how stupid some people can be. Most people that are there watching don't even know half the people that are on the card, so it's safe to say that if they aren't even in UFC they are not going to be known as much to the average "fan". I notice most people just go for the most unique looking or bigger guy without knowing what these people can actually do.

Also I think that Chuck is a horrible match for Shogun. It would end up the same way all of Chuck's fights do zzzzzz. If Shogun would have fought chuck last week he would still be sleeping. Shogun has to get back to the same fighter he was before his injury. There has not been anybody that could beat Chuck standing since Rampage did it 3 years ago. And nobody has beat him on the ground this decade. I would have to say that Chuck is the best at 205 in the world today.
wanderlei is far from a celeb inside the ufc he fought for them ages ago and only big fans of mma like us know about it most common fans have no clue who either shogun or wanderlei(except other than a bit of hype that they were exposed to) are not to mention wanderlei's run in the ufc wasnt excatly that successful and ofcourse no one could beat chuck standing look at who he's fought since rampage: tito who was scared to get hit by chuck and has poor stand up but still managed to get a few good shots in during the second fight if chuck fought like that against shogun he'd be in deep trouble, vernon white gave chuck a good run but overall as a fighter is poor and has a losing record, an ageing randy couture has decent stand up but is nothing spectacular as he is more of a GnP fighter with very impressive wrestling, jeremy horn and renato babalu both are known more for thier ground skills and both have poor stand up. so overall its understandable that chuck has been dominating the stand up game not taking anything away from chuck as those all impressive fighters(aside from vernon white) but not stand up fighters

Shogun is the future, and can't draw my ass, Rampage and Cro Cop proved how mma fans are getting a better know how. Dana is protecting his boy now, Chuck's the money man, and he will milk the holy green out of him. Dana is a smart business man and a dip shit of a person.

If he doesn't know who Shogun is then he's severely sheltered.
He has a great point! Wanderlei is not the six year reigning champion anymore. It's not as big a fight anymore, so why is he going to risk it! It would've been great!

if W. Silva was in the hospital the night before a fight, with complications with his esophagus? I guess that's what he was saying? the man pointed at his throat!Strep throat!? why would you let him fight and possibly throw aways his six year legacy!?
