How big will MacDonald be if he pulls off a win?

So far Jason has had a good underdog story going for him which is slowly making him a fan favorite. If those wins against Herman and Leban made him a household name, what will a win against Rich Franklin do for him?

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

He'll get a title shot. Dana just came out and said it.

Would he jump ahead of Marquardt? I think so.

Despite Franklin's bad loss to Silva, MacDonald winning this fight would be an enormous upset.

I like both of these guys a lot. Franklin also has a great story about how he started in mma. It's going to be tough, but I will be rooting for MacDonald on this one.

We are talking "if" he wins.

If he wins then MacDonald will be on the fast track. He'll get a title shot. And even if he loses at the title shot, he'll have nice money fights for a little while.

Personally I don't think that he has that great of a chance. Rich Franklin has great submission defense and I think that fighting a ground fighter will do him some good right now. I'd think that he would have a bigger chance of being upset by a striker right now. After the beating he took from Silva, I'm willing to bet that he'll be a little gun shy in a stand up war and would lose a des.

Pretty big. But not as big as Linland will be if he beats Fedor. He'll be an MMA God.

If Macdonald wins this fight then he should immideatley be put into title contention, because rich franklin after all is a former champ.
