Gomi even said he didnt train hard because he was going to KO Nick in the first round and he almost did. If they fought again Gomi would train alot harder, take this fight serious and fight again like the Gomi that is number 1 in the world.

It would be the Marcus Aurelio fight all over again. It will definitely happen, and Gomi will kick Diaz's ass.

thats funny. Diaz got hit with maybe 6-7 shots total. Diaz peppered Gomi throughout the entire fight. Gomi's shots were solid but Diaz showed the better standup by far. I couldnt even tell how diaz got the cut under his right eye. They clinched up then all of a sudden he was bleeding. But Gomi didn't look better on the feet or on the ground. Gomi could win a rematch but I don't see it. Diaz win's a decision or submits him again.

Excuses, excuses. Of course he's gonna say he didn't train hard. He punched himself out in the 1st and could barely stand afterwards. Did you see how many of those haymakers wiffed. Diaz always has a chance to win. But he better be ready for a long fight. If he uses his wrestling ability and GNP's Diaz then he could get the decision. He won't submit Diaz and won't knock him out.

If he's not training to his full ability for every fight, he doesn't deserve anything.

Gomi might win in a rematch, but I will never go as far to say that he'll kick Diaz's ass. Diaz has fought some of the best fighters in the world. He's always game, he's always ready. His punches picked apart Gomi. He wasn't throwing bombs, he was throwing solid, technical strikes that kept coming. They compounded and wore Gomi out. If there is a rematch, Gomi better get the KO or he won't win.

Diaz's technical style is better suited for longer fights. If the rematch gets out of the first, Gomi is in trouble again.

Maybe Gomi would have trained harder if his title was on the line. And why wasn't it? Why do you have to beat Gomi twice to take his title? I hate non-title fights. They appear to have no purpose except to protect their investment. Fighters take risks and so should their promoters. Gomi has a belt that he doesn't deserve. But, I agree, he very well may KO Diaz next time, he almost did last time.
Then again, Diaz will come in better prepared as well. Diaz-Gomi II is going to be better than the first. Like fight of the year good. Diaz was soo surprised about how badly he got beat-up. He'll be more ready for those windmil punches.

I agree it is something that Pride seems to do a lot. It's stupid. If a champion fights his title should be on the line period. You never see a champ in the UFC fighting without his title on the line unless the other guy does not make weight or something.

I sure hope not. The second Aurelio fight was boring as hell. Gomi was really defensive most of the time. You could even see it on his face after he won the fight, he was disappointed because he didin't put on much of a show for the fans.

That being said, I agree Gomi will train much harder for a rematch and take Nick seriously. I'm not just going to go ahead and give him that victory though. It should be a good fight, I hope it happens soon, maybe they'll meet in the LW GP?
