I still think Franklin won that fight. I seem to remember at the time that this fight was to decide who was going to be a coach on TUF (vs Bisping). Franklin said on a few occasions that he wasnt interested in this roll at all.
Henderson won this fight 29-28 I think....

Franklin was robbed. It is just as plain to me now as it was back then.
Every time I see Hendo get a great win (all of them lately), I think about how well Franklin did against him. It really shows the level that Franklin is capable of competing at.

I wish Franklin would go back to 205, I'd love to see him fight Chael, Munoz, Weidman, Bisping etc. I'm rewatching this and i'm halfway through round 2 and I have round 1 Hendo and so far in round 2 Franklin.

I had it this way:
Round 1: Hendo 10-9. Striking was even. Hendo on top.
Round 2: Franklin 10-9. Franklin out struck Hendo. Hendo did nothing from on top. There was no takedown on Hendo's part either, it was just a scramble.
Round 3: Again, no real takedown. Just a scramble. Hendo does nothing from on top. Franklin gets up and out points him the rest of the round.
Franklin 29-28 clear as day to me.
The thing that really upset me about him getting robbed was this fight determined who was going to coach TUF. Although I love the Hendo Bisping KO, I really wanted Rich to get that TUF spot.

Someone told me Rich wasn't interested in doing the tuf again, in round 2 Dan got the takedown with about 2.35 left and pretty much layed on him til the last 10 seconds where he postured up and landed about 3 good shots maybe. Some stupid judge gave it 30-27 Franklin what a dummy, neither fighter had it 30-27. Round 1 and 3 was clear as day for me round 2 is the iffy one it depends on how you score it but from the unified rules scoring Hendo edges it simply because of how round 2's second half went despite rich's striking.

That about sums it up. Dan was on top for half the round and though he didn't do much, he had complete control of the fight which is > being outstruck (though not by a huge margin) for half the round.

30-27 was ridiculous. But being in top usually isn't what scores. It's usually the takedowns that get the score.
A slip and scramble to top control with no damage should not be scored more than being out struck. There can be an argument made for a takedown, but not for only being on top and causing minimal damage. Thats insane.

Well imo I would prefer the old pride judging criteria on significant shots and damage along with a couple of other things, that said Shogun is getting his knocked off this saturday.

So basically 'Fitching' won this fight for Hendo. I still think that had Franklin been interested in TUF he might have won.
