I say yes. He has more wins, has fought tougher guys, has never been KOd.

They are both legends though.

Are you hinting at Fedor?

If Hendo beat him straight up being 7 years older and 20 lbs lighter. Plus Hendo's record had been more consistent and he has fought better fighters.

I don't get how Fedor can have time catch up with him, but Hendo is much older and has just as many fights.

I'd say yes but mainly because he has just beat Fedor and Shogun. Beyond that, he has been unsuccessful in 2 UFC title fights, something Randy Couture captured in 2 divisions.

If you were to ask is Dan Henderson a better fighter I'd say without a doubt yes. But that's not the same question. Both have had two periods during their careers where they have been next level legendary. Couture when he was LHW champ and then came back to become HW champ, and Hendo when he KOd Wanderlei and now.

If Hendo could win a title, it would do so much for his legacy. But he needs to drop to 185 to do that because Jon Jones is just not someone he's going to beat.

Its like comparing a GIANT (Hendo) to an ANT (Randy)!

It's even unfair to compare a man even in 40y he is so dominant that young fighters aren't able to STOP him!!!

Go Hendo, go ...

I really wish he drops to MW and does another Silva vs Hendo fight. I'm sure Silva will win, but Hendo will be a pain in the ass this time for Silva.

Henderson is a wrestler, but he comes out and knocks people out. In the first 3 rounds with Shogun he looked like a monster. He beat the sh*t out of 29-year-old Shogun. The RAW power in his hands is insane! In the first round he's scary. Jones may actually lose the fight if Hendo catches him. I don't think his chin is better than Fedor's or Shogun's. I think he's way more dangerous than Rampage or Machida.

Favorite fighters:
1. Badr Hari
2. Remy Bonjasky
3. Mauricio Rua
4. Anderson Silva
5. Alistair Overeem

I think he's the better fighter, but Randy I think has accomplished more. If Randy's chin would have held up post Chuck Liddell I think he would have even more of a hell of a career.

If Hendo was in the UFC from the start and was handed title shots every other fight, I'm sure he would have won it IN THAT ERA.

Don't blame Hendo that he hasn't won a UFC title. He didn't compete in an era where the roster was small and the fighters didn't take it as serious.

What Anderson Silva's or Jon Jones' did Randy have to beat to win a title?

For me, yes, and pretty easily so. I really like Randy, but I've always found him a bit overrated. He's had a great career, don't get me wrong, I just don't think his record/resume warrants the praise he gets. Great guy, great career, and definitely a great ambassador for MMA, but his career vs Hendo's? I think Hendo wins that comparison easily.

Truth is Shields is very underrated even more now that he's on a two fight skid. Hendo still has beat the greatest Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight in the history of the sport and I'm pretty sure he's the only guy who can say that and along the way he's racked up wins over guys like Wand, Franklin, Nog, Belfort, Feijao, Babalu, and Bisping.
Good post. To the OP it was interesting cuz I was thinking the same exact thing. Hendo may have surpassed him. A couple of things stand out though for Randy he held two UFC belts and was the oldest MMA fighter. He also beat two of the toughest LHWs in Tito and Chuck at the time. Here's an argument though Randy picks fights which are winnable. He lost to Barnett eons ago, but got an immediate title shot against Tim Sylvia. Go figure...

Hendo held two Pride belts and zero UFC belts, but has just beaten the best HW in the world and is on the craziest winning streak of his career!

We'll discuss again when he retires. If Hendo wins the UFC LHW title then it's an easy yes.
